There was an issue with Patch 5, that made using this mod difficult, but the issue was fixed in Patch 5 Hotfix #15. This mod is once again safe to use.
There is currently a bug in BG3 that prevents loading if you try to load a game that had a mod installed that you no longer have. This means, that if you enable this mod, you may not be able to disable it. You may try this Different Mod Settings Fix (Tutorial) to load a game in such a situation. Or wait for Larian to release a fix for this issue. Even though modding isn't currently supported, this is clearly a bug, so you may also make a bug report to Larian.
Until Larian fixes this issue, I would advice against using this mod. I have added new merchants to the Basket mod, so you will have chances of buying the amulet in later chapters.
If you followed the instructions, and only used this mod briefly to get the amulet, you should not have lost any progress. When you were unable to load your game. If you did play the game with this mod enabled, you might be able to load your game using the linked tutorial.
fair warning this seems like an awful method of obtaining the basket, it's like using a hammer to smash your toe to kill the ant on it... uninstalling mods mid playthrough can cause all kinds of problems and at very best will get you a big fat warning from the game. And its a dangerous effect... summoning a chest whenever you dash, can clearly bloat and break a save. Can we not think of anything better? A scroll to summon the basket in the camp chest with AV framework or something?
I would say don't do this and either use the console or find another workaround
After uninstalling and removing the .pak file, my save was unable to load as others have mentioned below. I tried making the mod inactive and deleting the .pak straight from file explorer on separate launches, but none of these steps would work.
However I managed to restore the functionality of my save file. Not sure if all steps are necessary, but these worked on my end:
With the mod installed and ensuring the ghost basket is no longer spawned in game, save, quit game
Make the mod inactive in BG3MM
As mentioned by csduffin earlier, in BG3MM go to settings -> open preferences -> choose the advanced tab -> type -continueGame in the Launch Params and save your settings in the upper left corner of the window
Delete Cache in the Advanced tab of Preferences. Close Preferences.
Make sure to save and export the load order, then launch game from BG3MM
Game should boot straight into the save file and the dash will be back to normal
Quit the game, delete the .pak in BG3MM, remove changes to BG3MM preferences, boot the game again and you should be able load into your save with no error messages or issues
For step 6, When you boot up the game after dash in back to normal make a new save. When I followed this step by step I still had the same problem saying I was missing a mod to load up the most recent save, so try this if this helps anyone else :)
DO NOT INSTALL THIS MOD. IT WILL BRICK YOUR SAVE AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOAD ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE PLAYING MULTIPLAYER. THE MOD AUTHOR DOES NOT SEEM TO RESPOND TO ANY COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE REGARDING THIS EITHER
If you have Script Extender installed, you do not need this mod. Make sure your console is activated and then you can simply paste the following into it to give yourself the basket. I had to paste it twice for the console to acknowledge the command. Confirmed this works on Patch 5 as of 2 minutes ago.
Installed the mod and was able to get the baskets, but when I removed the .pak file from C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods\, it asked me if I wanted to continue since the mod was no longer installed. I'm assuming that's standard or since it says that, will it break my game.
Dont Install this Mod! If you do you can not uninstall this Mod without destroying your save files. And if you keep this Mod active you can never use Dash ingame again.
And the Mod Creator does not even write back or trying to solve this issue. What a As***** Its a Trap.
Yea, it bricked my most recent save file when I tried to remove it (per instructions). Luckily the only 2 hours I won't get back is just me messing with mods and not any actual progression.
YES! I just did it not even 5 minutes ago but it is an absolute pain and you have to download BG3MM. Basically follow the steps from siloy666.
- Make sure THIS MOD is DISABLE in Vortex. - Download BG3MM - BG3MM go to settings -> open preferences -> choose the advanced tab -> type -continueGame (Save is top LEFT not right like I did the first 3 times) - In BG3MM screen you should see all the mods as active. If not move them to active and export to game. DO NOT MOVE DASHMOD. - There might be some overrides at the bottom that is OK for now. - Then lunch BG3 from BG3MM - Should load the game as normal and directly into the campaign. - If dash is working properly save. - Quit game and completely remove the .PAK from both Vortex and BG3MM.
Its not the most convenient but it worked and now I can play as normal. I tried to find a command line that would work similarly in Vortex but came up empty handed sorry.
Edit: I am still trying to find a command line that forces the game to start like it does with BG3MM but due to the way Vortex manages the games it does not look promising.
From @anxietytheork on discord To load into a save with different mod settings, load a save with all of you had active in that save. Save the game. Close the GameIn BG3MM, Open Preferences. In the Advanced tab, type `-continueGame` in the Launch Params. You must type it in.
