This mod is about the DATAMINED HEAD - all optional files work for the datamined head ONLY (and require the main replacer - please read the actual main description!).
No, I will not create versions of these files for the vanilla head. That is not what this mod is about nor do I want to create more file clutter than there already is.
I'm also not making additional versions of the main mod, outside of bugfixes this mod is feature-complete and won't get any additions. To-do list/requests: - spoiler:
Hey! i added the mod and the head is just completely bugged... out of body, floating, not animating. hard to describe it, like a mannequin? Playing on patch 8. By the comments, im sure it's something on my end and not the mod's fault but i can't figure out what. I'm on patch 8, maaaaaybe that has to do with it? ;;; any help appreciated
Yeah, I'm having issues too — I can't start a new game because of this particular mod. And it's a shame, because Karlach's face looks too soft to me; this one is just perfect.
I have 0 issues with this mod on patch 8, ive put out a version with the modfixer from patch 6 fully removed in case that helps but I assume whatever issue youre running into is something else on your end
The funny thing about it is this mod maker her look like a POC with South Indian features and nose where as the current Karlach is westernized with a very Caucasian centric features and of course beautified which is of course up BG3 alley but not exactly the most lore friendly when it comes to her story. The resorting to the Asian defense is kind of funny and very inaccurate.
Scarred vanilla-head Karlach is PERFECTION! My hat is off to you! (I mean, I don't generally wear hats, but if I did, I would definitely perform the "hats off" gesture in your honor.)
Hey man I love this mod! I play on console though so I cant use it unfortunately. Not sure if this has been asked before but would you ever consider uploading a version to the Larian website so it can be ported to console? I bet a ton of people on there would love it!
its possible im just very stupid as this is my first time experimenting with BG3 mods but the scarred vanilla head doesn't appear to be showing up in game anywhere?
I read the installation instructions and dragged the folder received from the download into the 'data' folder within steams BG3 folder.. am I missing something?
You can check if you've installed correctly by going to new game and looking at her origin model from there.
When you drag the data folder in the following address X:(funnypcname)\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\ The file you're dragging into the data file is a folder called "Generated", and below there's going to be others like Localization and Mods.
If you didn't have "Generated" folder before, then do not worry, now you have one. When installing mods by drag and drop, there should be a pop-up window that will say: "Would you like to replace the files with the new ones?" Hit yes. It will actually merge the texture files together on top of the original. Also, try to make sure if raising the graphic quality makes them come up, just in case.
just have to let you know, kind stranger, your comment has stopped me from scratching my head til it bleeds. I always assumed "generated folder" as in the whole zip folder "generated" from the webpage and wondered why it just won't work... Thank you and I can finally start enjoying this mod.
someone please tell me if i'm doing anything wrong here; i followed the instructions and put the folder of scarred vanilla head inside bg3 data folder (i tried both zipped and unzipped, even tried putting them in the mod folder) but it just wont show in the game!
EDIT: I just found the solution thanks to an old comment here... You need to look for a folder named "generated" inside the zip folder and put it inside the specified location.
