This mod should be compatible with other mods as long as they don't modify the progression table for 1st level Paladins.
If you encounter any issues or bugs, please make a bug report rather than a comment so I don't have to move it manually. Also, please make sure you read the Potential Issues/Disclaimers section of the mod description before making a report—thanks! 😊
Is this mod compatible with other mods? Yes. Unless it changes the Paladin progression table for level 1, it should be compatible. If another mod does change the progression table, i.e. it's another Paladin related mod, I recommend using Compatibility Framework, which allows compatibility between subclasses. Any issues related to that mod should be directed to its comments section.
Why doesn't the subclass show up in character creation? You probably either: 1) Didn't install it properly. Take a look at the installation guide at the end of the mod description. or 2) Haven't updated all your mods. Make sure that ImprovedUI and Script Extender in particular are up-to-date. or 3) Have other mods that overwrite it. Please place Community Library at the very top of your load order, and Compatibility Framework at the very bottom. If that doesn't work, try placing this mod further down in the load order. If the problem still persists, disable all other addons except the ones required by this mod, enable your mods one by one, and see which one is causing the issue.
Why did I break my oath? Read the mod description.
X happens when I do Y, even though it shouldn't. Why? Your other mods are most likely causing a conflict. The first thing you would need to do is to update each and every single one of your other mods to make sure they're not the ones causing the problem. If you've done that and the issue persists, try respeccing out of this subclass before updating it, then respec back. If that doesn't help, disable all mods apart from the required ones and enable your them one by one to see which one is causing problems. Once you've done that and the issue still persists, you are welcome to open a bug report.
My mods are designed to be as non-dependent on other mods as possible, and I'm not responsible for issues appearing when playing with multiple mods. I will not go out of my way to accommodate or implement workarounds to make it compatible with mods other than the ones listed in the Required files section. If the authors of other mods that cause conflicts wish to do so, they may.
Can you make a version where everything is unlocked by the time you reach level 12? No.
This mod includes the new subclass in the Progressions list so you probably have another Paladin subclass mod loaded before this one in the load order.
After the update there is a new dependency called "CrossplayUI". Is that a mistake or...? I can't find this mod, and it's not listed in the requirements.
Apparently BG3MM doesn't recognize it as a built-in dependency yet, so we'll have to wait for it to get an update. It should be fine to include it in the load order regardless.
Just a heads up that this mod is NOT SAFE TO UNINSTALL. Causes server shutdown error 302. This generally doesn't happen when removing class mods as far as I know...
Make sure you actually want to use this class before playing a save with it.
A few of havsglimt's mods use scripting, and with Patch 7 changing how mods work in small ways, I can see the scripts being borked. They'll fix it if/when they get back to modding.
Error 302 is "missing item." Since the dye included in the pre-patch 7 version is added to certain vendors, you have to buy it and delete it from the game (as well as ones from your inventory) before uninstalling the mod. If you have the garbage can mod or the tutorial chest summoning mod, you can place them in those containers to remove them and everything should probably be fine.
Hey guys has anyone else had the issue where the spell screen is offset such that you can't actually memorize paladin spells? The damn forums won't accept the url for the screenshot unfortunately but the spells function fine but the UI literally will not let me scroll down far enough to actually memorize them.
i was having an issue with two potentially newer mods replacing each other in the last spot of (x class's subclass) mods but i found a hopefully temporary compatibility mod that fixt it i believe, sorry!
regardless, thank you for all your work and i look forward to trying these subclasses out <3
okokok i think the issue is actually the compatibility framework not yet including certain classes but i downloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/6996 and placed just above compat framework and the warlock stuffs worked out - just have to have circle of stars and oath of conquest at the bottom of wherever y'alls <druids> and <paladin> subclass mods are respectively and hope you don't have other newnew subclasses that need that bottom spot lol. anyway umm if u can hide my dumb comments bc they're unnecessary i'd be grateful teehee sorry
Nah, they weren't stupid comments. You took it upon yourself to try to fix something that was plaguing people, and that's admirable. I think havsglimt just has to do some basic updates with the new patch and compatibility framework, which they may or may not do when they get around to it.
hey uh, i dont know if im doing something wrong, but i have both your oath of redemption and your oath of conquest one, but the latest one always rewrites the former from the game (same happened with circle of wildfire being replaced by circle of stormchasers) and i dont know what i am doing wrong, i followed your instructions but always the last one to download is the one that shows, no matter the order
Does this version still use Compatibility Framework? After updating, only your other Paladin subclasses show up for me (and the vanilla ones). This one doesn't anymore.
It doesn't work with other mods, at least not for me. I've been trying to use it with the Paladin Unleashed mod, but i've tryed many different things and nothing.
Downloaded your latest update from Nexus and it seems it broke my ability to load my saved games.
Changing the Attribute ID "Name" from "Oath of Conquest" to "OathofConquest" allowed my saves to be loaded again. Everything else you mentioned in the changelog works as expected.
I'm not sure why the Name attribute is causing this to break so hard for some, but it seems like it's affecting me now as well versus my earlier comment and reporting.
Your update actually broke the mod and now I am unable to load my save. It seems the update has a different name (OathofConquest vs Oath of Conquest) as well as some new (or missing) tags that is created a feedback loop and crashed the game when loading.
Please update so we can continue enjoying this mod!! Thank you!
Have you tried using the built-in mod manager instead? Have you respecced out of Conquest on the save you're trying to load and deleted the old version of the mod before updating to the new version? If worst comes to worst you can probably just use the old version, since this is pretty much just a revised version I uploaded to mod.io.
There might be something else blocking people's access from loading the saved game because I can report that I can load a saved game with a character that was using the previous Oath of Conquest mod just fine before it was updated.
That being said: the paladin that was using the mod now has no subclass when the game loads, you have to do a respec, but otherwise my save games with this mod are loading as expected.
Same issue - had a save with 2.3 installed, updated to the newest version, and was no longer able to load the save: crashes to main menu and shows a 302 error. Just a thought but given that 302 errors typically have to do with missing items/etc - did the dye (I saw the note about the changed color scheme) or something added by this mod change in the last update? I believe I had the dye in my camp chest at the time of the update.
Either way, downgrading to 2.3 works fine and my game is up and running again.
After coming back to BG3 to do a new save and having updated everything. I can say that, while the previous version had no problems. This new update makes it not show up at all in character creation. I tried deleting it completely and reinstalling it. I've done this multiple times. On both BG3 mod manager and the new in game mod manager. By the way you also can't uninstall it through the ingame mod manager. I went back to the previous version and it shows up without any trouble.
As far as I'm aware, an item that doesn't exist anymore in the files should simply disappear. If that's not the case, removing the item from your camp chest or anywhere else could probably fix that problem—just put it in the tutorial chest and it'll disappear. Also, try respeccing into another subclass before updating the mod and see if it works then.
UUIDs from root templates (items) and certain other entries can't be changed and are automatically generated by the toolkit, so I can't do much about items and entries that don't share the same UUIDs as the previous version of the mod. I've tried to see if I can change it to the same as from the old mod but it's grayed out and uneditable.
