Hi! I'm sorry if this is a bother but there were no forums on your mod for 5e spells and I couldn't find anything in the updates on the mod page about it but do you have any plans on updating to patch 7 or do you know if your mod is compatible with patch 7? Thank you for your time! And I am so sorry for commenting on an unrelated mod, if you want me to delete this I absolutely will!
Noticed a little thing that may or may not be by design - normally the bard can use inspirations and cast without a musical instrument equipped, and the game uses the "whistling" instrument. However I noticed that the Troubadour can still cast, but is unable to use Concordance or Mystic Songs without an instrument equipped.
Not a huge deal but if folks enjoy the whistle/non-instrument bard, maybe it's worth making it available?
Really enjoying playing the Troub in game so far, thanks again =)
It is by design that many of the Troubadour features require they're equipped with a musical instrument. It's specified as much in the GMBinder link detailing the class. It is a different class than the Bard, with way more emphasis on musical themes than what the Bard has going on with that being a pretty big part of its flavor and identify.
Yeah, no worries. Mechanically it just feels a little odd in game that there isn't a "singing" option of an instrument, but Bards have this problem too. The design makes sense! Thanks =)
That Ould be nice indeed, for one I don't like very much the choices of instruments in-game so a sing version/ non instrument version would be cool even if not a priority I guess :)
Hello, petal. If I read correctly at lvl 4 you should get feat on top of the ability score improvement, right? If so then I have no way of making it work whatsoever. Am I missing something?
I have noticed you put a lot of time and effort into your mods and want to make them relatively fair and balanced and not just some power fantasy.
You ever think about creating your own race/class/subclass compilation mod? With your also making the 5e spells and Expansion mod as well, you would be the one best suited to add them knowing they would be fair and balanced while maintaining compatibility with other mods. People would know that if they got it from you, it wouldn't be some overpowered or underpowered mess as well as being lore accurate.
I am betting many authors might even contribute their creations to such a compilation from a well known author for the game as yourself. Would also simplify countless mod lists to have a single mod that seamlessly adds races, classes, and subclasses.
Always been a fan of the compilation sets from people who actually are caring about the balance of the game and lore and not just some mindless power fantasy and no one more qualified to do it than the person who makes the mods that all those classes, subclasses, and races are built on.
Betting many would download it immediately once they saw it came out of your account. But, betting that until the next update with the official mod creator comes out, most stuff from most others will be put on hold or slowing down.
Love the mods you put out and thanks for the effort. Would it be possible to add a tradition focused on discord and fear? Possibly even do something like the psionic tradition but with madness or necrotic. I want to run this on a DUrge run with all kinds of mind game spells.
Thank you so much for making this mod! I am loving it so far as a nice "Support" character. There is one thing that I am not sure is a bug or intended. The character I have as a Troubadour has this constaint sound effect on. I think it is the same sound effect that plays when you're near a soul coin. Do you think it would be possible to get this sound effect removed/toggled? Thank you!!
When you say constant, what do you mean precisely? Like you're not doing anything specific and/or its just there from like level 1? Not entirely familiar with that sound but I don't recall introducing something like that so that's pretty odd haha.
Sorry haha. It actually sounds more like when you coat your weapon in poison. That magic-y high-ish pitched sound. I currently have Astarian set as a troubadour. When I move close to him, the sound starts. When I move away from him, the sound stops. I changed Wyll and Gale to a troubadour to test and the sound effect starts/stops the same. It's like me being in proximity with the character who is a troubadour makes the sound start. Hm I can't hear anything from your video I'm afraid. Also wanted to test and see if I could replicate it on my end, including after picking a subclass at 3rd level and nothing. Would you mind DMing me your save folder so I can see if I can hear it that way?
Rereading the full subclasses descriptions I saw a really minor missing bit on the mod page : Ever Adaptable description does not mention the second part "Additionally, after a long rest, you may select one skill with which you are not proficient. You gain proficiency in that skill until you complete a long rest." so one could think there is a mismatch between the feature and your implementation.
I mean the Note underneath Ever Adaptable does specifically touch on how the proficiency is gained and all, so that would be a bit of a reach for such a conclusion but have added the second part of the feature's description still though since that was an oversight.

Also I could probably make an separate optional mod with the non-instrument version of the features at some point if that's desired.

Edit: Well, nevermind. It's just 1 feat, not 2.
