If quests break when you summon the chest, you're probably using one of the "All Items" mods. Remove it!
(And I'd really recommend you just stop using such mods if you are, in general. It seems only a matter of time before it will break your quests even if it hasn't yet.)
1M+ downloads and 20k+ endorsements - if the mod doesn't work for you, it's because you haven't installed it correctly or because some other mod is breaking things. Not because it "doesn't work."
Standard troubleshooting instructions:
Close the game and whichever mod manager you're using.
Delete modsettings.lsx from your Public profile folder.
Launch the game from Steam / GOG (this will make it recreate a clean modsettings file.)
Close the game.
If you were using BG3 Mod Manager, delete its folder.
Use BG3 Mod Manager to install the latest version of the mods you intend to use (File -> "Import Mod...")
Let the mod manager install Script Extender for you if it asks, or use the menu Tools -> "Download & Extract the Script Extender..."
Launch the game to the main menu and exit from there, to let Script Extender auto-update, then restart the mod manager.
Drag the mods to the left side of the window to activate them.
Move this mod last in the list to avoid some conflicting mod breaking it.
Save the mod list. (Ctrl-S)
Launch the game from BG3 Mod Manager.
In multiplayer, all players must have the same versions of the same mods, in the same load order.
No game update has ever made this mod stop working. If you're here to post that a patch broke it - no, it didn't. All your mods probably just got disabled. Re-save the mod list (BG3 Mod Manager) or deploy (Vortex) to get mods working again.
I have just starting playing again with patch 8 and now when I summon the tutorial chest whatever camp clothes I have equipped are changed to the Debtor's attire. Is that supposed to happen?
This must be new -- when I use this, I'm, suddenly in the debtor's attire and NOTHING I do removes it -- lol, might have to stop using this mod bc it's clearly...doing something? Unless this is a little thing that is supposed to happen??
Did you end up finding out what the problem was? I really want to download this to access modded items from the chest but I don't want to be trapped in the debtor's attire lol..
is there anyone else who are missing some modded items in the tutorial chest? i think items that were coded specifically for just the tutorial chest are missing, because i'm only finding modded items that are also available at vendors
Hi, I had the same problem, but it's working again after I changed the load order. This mod is now almost the last one to be loaded, just before the Compatibility Framework. (No Hide Version for Script Extender)
Thanks for yr advice however when I placed this mod before the Compatibility Framework as you instructed it’s a partial fix. Every bag, crate and container inside of the chest has a number but not the tutorial chest itself.
I’ve also tried removing all the mods except for the tutorial chest and as before placing it just before the Compatibility Framework but there are still no numbers on the chest, even if there are 3 or 4 items in it.
Is it safe for me to assume that Patch 8 is the problem?
+1 I'm not sure what the problem is, got the same "half fix" with load order but items cannot go into the tutorial chest. I think it has something to do with these summons, this issue also exists with Basket of Equipment Mod's summoning chest.
i think the issue is that to avoid trader bag exploits, Larian must have changed how bags are coded. i've noticed some differences in the code, but havent taken a deep dive yet.
Edit: I deleted all ImpUI mods, also deleted mod fixer that I downloaded ingame and nexus(i am on patch 8), imported exported load order on vortex, deinstalled/unsubscribed in ingame MM, imp/ex load order. Hope this helps

If you use the above mod and can't get items in tutorial chest remove this above mod.
This was originally mentioned in: AV Item Shipment Framework (AV ISF)
kudos to you!
First any armor/clothes mod
Then the dyes
Then tutorial chest as the last thing
Save and export the new order to the game :)
Does anyone know how to fix this ?
As of Patch 8, the number indicator doesn't appear on the summoned tutorial chest icon in the inventory.
In my Patch 7 save
(It shows as 1562)
In Patch 8
(It's just the tutorial chest icon with no numbers at all)
Thanks for the reply.
What's AME ???

good to see its not just me going crazy.
