Needs a quick, 2 minute update to make Boot of the Giants a bonus action instead of an action.

I saw on a previous comment you said that it affects NPC enemies too, but how does this cost change interact with their AI?

I fear it may push to them to make stupid decisions, as I've seen many mods that add Action Points or Bonus Action Points or modify the action cost of spells to have detrimental unintended side effects on the AI of the enemy...

In this case I worry maybe they could think a Shove is better than an Attack when it wouldn't be, or they make a Shove instead of casting a spell. When Shove just costs a Bonus Action in the base game, making a mistake with it doesn't have a big opportunity cost, but when you change to an Action, an enemy making a stupid decision with it may completely change the difficulty of an encounter.

I only ever use the reduced distance version, so can't speak to how the AI behaves with the "regular" one, but with reduced distance you'll only have enemies shoving when you've placed yourself on a ledge or to wake up their sleeping friends (which now has an actual opportunity cost.)

Some other mod that reduced shove distance and turned it into an action may have been the very first mod I installed, back in early access. Absolutely hate everything about Larian's default launching shove spamming.

Works flawlessly with Expansion's 4th attack

Doesn't the shove action in 5e also allow you to trip? Do you think a trip action could be implemented as well?

It can and it has been.

I made this mod to specifically only make the minimum changes necessary to give the existing action the right... "semantics"? To make the game and more specifically my Echo Knight mod recognize it as an attack even though it doesn't use an attack roll. But I didn't want to add new actions as that causes compatibility issues with other mods and makes save files dependent on the mod.

You may be interested in Combat Actions instead. It adds a Shove Prone among other things.
It also works with Extra Attack, but doesn't actually make the shove be recognized as an attack, so doesn't work from an Echo.

Edit: As of version 1.0.8, Combat Actions' shove is also a special attack action.
