As this is my first mod, I'm still working out all the kinks, but I'll try to document and update my progress here.
Known issues so far:
Dye icons are blank/invisible — occurs when Slightly Better Dyeing has not yet updated with my most recent dyes. Fix: Wait for and then download the newest version of Slightly Better Dyeing, or use the Lite version.
Dyes not appearing with certain vendors — I'm not sure why as there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the code, but I'll add more vendors in a future version so they'll have a better chance at showing up with at least some of them. Best ways to obtain my dyes are with the tutorial chest or using the UUIDs in the cheat engine. Temporary fix: A lot of new vendors have been added as of v1.1.0.
Dye bottles are "grey-out" and show an "invalid combination" error when trying to dye an item — I believe these may be some dyes that have been obtained BEFORE installing an updated version of the mod. Even if the dye icons have changed after the update, the dye item itself may not work for some reason. Re-obtain the same dyes AFTER installing an updated version of the mod, and the new dye items should work (while the old ones will likely still be faulty). Fix: After installing new version of this mod, summon/purchase TC Dyes again.
Updates:
1.3.0 — Added 36 color palettes, 3 dyes each (108 new dyes total), added dye descriptions, added tutorial chest only version
1.2.0 — Added 16 new color palettes, 3 dyes each (48 new dyes total)
1.1.0 — Updated with better custom dye and pouch icons, added a lot more vendors, added 4 color palettes (12 new dyes)
absolutely loving this mod! would love to see a palette that's similar to frisson (my fav!) but with the dark teal of vagary instead of navy blue— maybe keeping with the gold tones of vagary as well instead of the silvery of frisson. and similarly, wouldn't say no to a golden version of frisson as well!
if youre still taking requests I would love any dye set that could replicate a similiar style of these 3 different outfits that Legolas wears in both the LOTR and the Hobbit
Maybe a version of Tasha's general color scheme from these pictures out of Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and The Wild Beyond the Witchlight? A more neutral black + a dusty purple/blue-tinged black, cool reds, dark brown leather, gold and dark iron?
(I will forever want more Tasha/Iggwilv/Zybilna-themed items for the game. 5e spells gave me two more of her named spells, much to my joy)
I love your dyes! If you're still open to requests, I'd love something that would let the Unwanted Masterwork Greaves match the Unwanted Masterwork Scalemail. I can't for the life of me figure out why they'd have the bulk of the set in lovely neutrals but the shoes in crimson red.
Hello :D Thanks for your work, I love your dyes!!! If you are still taking request, can you make a dye with Raphael colors please :) ? I really love his clothes x) Have a good day!
Since you updated the mod on the 10th of february, "Vakare" and "Karakoram" more then fufill the idea I originally posted. I don't know whether you did them based on my writing, but regardless I want to say I feel really touched, thank you so much. I felt like a bit of a dick asking for more after you've already made so many wonderful pallettes lol, I cant imagine how much time goes into coding and testing them. Wishing you all the best!
Hey, i have 2 ideas that's going around in my mind: - first, a dye inspired by northern lights, with silver metal, with a palette similar to this one or this other one : this in my mind would fit pretty well with mages since those are basically the colours associated with arcane magic. - second a dye inspired by autumnal leaves, with browns, reds and oranges. Let me know if i have to "study" a particular palette to post here, i don't know how many colours there are in a dye to define a palette that makes sense ^^'
playthrough after playthrough, i look elsewhere for my fashion choices but keep coming back to the wonderfully subtle and well-considered dyes in the mod. phenomenal work, thank you <3
Hi. I'm planning on starting a modded multiplayer campaign soon with some friends. I haven't used mods before so I apologise in advance if this is a silly question.
Can anyone confirm if this mod works for Patch 7 in multiplayer? And thank you.
It does work in the newest patch, but be careful if you get bored of this mod during your playthrough, you might not be able to disable it. Because for us disabling this mod during mid-playthrough (like in ACT2) the campaign will just not load - enabling it again let's us continue our campaign.
Thank you so much for these awesome dyes. 💜💜💜 I have... basically all the dye mods, TBH... but I find myself using your dyes time and time again. Rich, beautiful colours, tasteful palettes, and interesting effects on different materials/outfits... I find myself testing the look of your dyes over and over with every new outfit because the effects can be so different while still obviously being the same dye, if that makes sense. Colourful without being gaudy.
Also, and I say this with all the love, F U for making so many awesome dyes. You are the direct cause of me spending more hours than I care to admit testing dye/outfit combos. I hope you're happy. =P
Looking at the dyes from this mod, OP, I have to assume you have absolutely exquisite taste. The most striking, elegant dye set I've seen to date. Thank you!
These colors are absolutely beautiful, thank you so much for the work you put into these! The tone of a muted - like color is so great, and a better version than bright colors. Thank you for these!!!
Hei, sorry to bother you but it seems that I have some issues with dyeing clothes. Namely the color ends up not being uniform. It's splotchy, with color discolorations on the same material. Surprisingly this happens only to modded clothes even if the authors say that they can all be dyed and it is an universal issue, not related to a singular mod.
I don't know what to do to fix this. So far I have tried putting the dye mod on the top of the loading order and at the bottom. It did not work. Am I missing anything? Do you have any tips on what I could do?
Thank you in advance and despite the issues I am having I have to say that this is a really great mod that I enjoy tremendously.
PS: I have Mod fixer and Script extender already installed. Also all the required mods from everyone are installed.
