I'm encountering a problem with texture rendering for black skin specifically with Gortash and Gale. I believe the issue isn't related to this mod itself, but rather to something on my end or possibly due to some files I manually deleted. Can anyone direct me to the precise location where these files are stored?

Edit: Disable Re-enable all mods from MM and loading previous save did the trick.
I'd love to get a version with your hairstyle + his original black hair color, but I'd rather not ask you to make changes, lol, so I'm trying to figure out how to do it myself. I've got the BG3 Pak ExportTool, and I'm guessing the color is somehow stored as part of Public\Malfoy_Gortash\Content\[PAK]_CharacterVisuals\_merged.lsf; I can unpack that to an lsx file so I can read it in notepad, but I don't see anything in there that suggests a hair color that could be edited. Could you point me in the right direction? If this is too complex a subject, no worries, I'm happy with the original, just figured I'd give it a try.
Hi! Thanks for reaching out and sorry for replying so late. If you have unpacked the data already look for all instances of "03Hair". You need to change all instances of the "value" for MaterialPresetResource to the original: "f9364368-53d2-6378-f585-e54b7de43858"
I'm afraid I couldn't get the black hair to work. I thought I followed CharmaineCC's directions, but it had no effect in-game, and I really don't really know what I'm doing, lol. Decided to stick with the blonde rather than get frustrated over it ❤️
Sweet! I really do love the blonde too; black would just make it easier to squint my eyes at any paintings or larian artwork and pretend that he always looked this good 😁
This needs a version that has him in a proper suit and cloak as well, I'm sorry but I can't take this man seriously wearing that getup. At least now his face matches his voice.
His beautiful hair is not appearing for me, just his regular messy hair, lol. Anyone have any ideas?
I was using this mod before: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2324. But as soon as I saw this one I immediately deleted it for this mod instead, his face and collar have changed yet his hair remains the same. Could have something to do with the previous mod? All traces of it have been deleted, though.
Hi, I left his old hair model intact and only changed his hair in the code. The likely culprit is another character mod you are using that changes character appearances, where the creator has left a bloated file that overwrites more than the intended character. Try removing all your other mods that relate to character visuals. Also try using BG3 Mod Manager and putting this mod at the bottom of your list. I would also check your "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Public" folder for any .lsf files you may have dropped there when trying to install unpackaged mods.
I have quite a few mods that change other NPCs, all of which use loose files rather then pak's, is this something you are able to provide?
I saw you mentioned in another comment the hair is a vanilla hair, and you've just applied it to Gortash. I'm not entirely sure how that whole process works, lol. Are you able to replace his regular hair with one of these loose files? I would looooove to use this hair with Gortash but I'm not willing to lose my other NPC changes, haha.
EDIT: with bg3 mod manager, as long as this mod is on the bottom, the mod should work regardless if you have loose files. I think I know what your problem is. Check under Data/Generated/Public/SharedDev/Assets/Characters/Models/_Hair/Resources/ Delete any files called "HAIR_HUM_M_Gortash.GR2"
I've got the pak in my app data BG3 mods folder, and I've noticed his cloak works, his face is changed, but his eyes aren't light blue like in your comparison image (not a big deal I can live with that, lol) and his hair is missing. EDIT: his eyebrows match his usual dark hair, and are not a lighter colour like in your image.
I tested with the other mod I was using and I can get a different hair then his usual one to appear, AND keep your face model, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get this beautiful long blonde hair to appear.
I've cleared out everything to do with Gortash previously, especially that GR2 file but cannot get your hair for some reason.
