FYI, idk if it's an error on my end but the icons for the heads aren't displaying properly?

Hey! completely random, but it I just can't get the mod working? I love the dwarf head and would really love to use it. I have the UI mod and the mod fixer (I don't use custom tav so didn't download that). I've deployed and elevated the mods, still nothing. Any suggestions would be welcome <3

Are you using BG3MM or Vortex? The latter I've never used so cannot totally help there but for BG3MM you go to File -> Import Mod -> find jerinski-heads_short-lads.7z and hit import, then Save and Export load order. BG3MM can directly import .7z files, but I am not sure about Vortex.

What's the difference between bazza and bazza alt? I can't seem to spot it

Mod was working fine beforehand but after I reinstalled the game due to other mod issues the head just floats in the air and doesn't connect to the hair or body. I've tried running the game with just unique tav, shaders and this mod but it still doesn't work. I've tried reinstalling, all the file installations and load orders nothing seems to work. Anything I messed up or missing?

If you reinstalled the game it could be that the needed graphics settings were reverted. Floating heads will happen when Animation Level of Detail is not set to high.

So I've noticed something weird happening with the left nostril of all the gnome heads... Not sure where the problem originates, but I don't have any other mods modifying gnome heads.

Ah damn yeah this kind of thing can happen when custom skeletons are loaded as replacers (you have the loose files right?). It can happen because there are still vanilla stuff interacting which now mismatch as opposed to new assets, so it's kind of a crapshoot. I'll have a look tomorrow if I can find a different head to replace that doesn't cause that. Hopefully.

In the meantime if you want you could try removing the GNO _base.GR2s from within the public folder. Those are the skeletons. The piercings and beards won't fit anymore and it could be that there is animation oddness, but it wouldn't hurt to try. (game will just default to the vanilla skeletons)

Yep, I use the loose files version - your heads are such a step-up from the vanilla ones that it would be a shame not to use them as replacers, haha.

And yep, deleting those files solved the problem!

Hey Caerhann, I have also discovered that having the pak mod installed fixes the issue as well (which is why I hadn't been able to reproduce those artefacts you were getting).
The update doesn't add anything new yet ;) just some bugfixes and I included this troubleshooting info in the loose files readme.

As in only the pak version or the pak version *and* the loose version?

Either way, I appreciate your response a lot; thank you!!

Yeah when I have both the pak version and loose files both installed it somehow seems to get rid of the issue with the replacer gnomes.

Will try this; thank you so much!!

I don't want to test your patience too much, but just one more question - do you think that the deleted base files should stay deleted?

No worries! Actually not sure about the loose skeletons. They are basically just edited animation bones to fit the new facial geometry of the heads. They also affect how piercings and beards fit, but I don't know how relevant that is to npcs. I would say try keep them removed and if you notice any npcs with animation weirdness to try putting them back in to see if it helps.
