CIRCLE OF STORMCHASERS IS NOW LIVE!

This mod should be compatible with other mods as long as they don't modify the progression table for 2nd level Druids.

If you encounter any issues or bugs, please make a bug report rather than a comment so I don't have to move it manually. Also, please make sure you read the Potential Issues/Disclaimers section of the mod description before making a report—thanks! 😊

    🌪️ FAQ 🌪️

Is this mod compatible with other mods?

Yes. Unless it changes the Druids progression table for level 2, it should be compatible. If another mod does change the progression table, i.e. it's another Druid related mod, I recommend using Compatibility Framework, which allows compatibility between subclasses. Any issues related to that mod should be directed to its comments section. This mod features innate support for that mod, and requires Script Extender to function.

Why doesn't the subclass show up in character creation?

    You probably either:
    1) Didn't install it properly. Take a look at the installation guide at the end of the mod description.
    or
    2) Haven't updated all your mods. Make sure that ImprovedUI and Script Extender in particular are up-to-date.
    or
    3) Have other mods that overwrite it. Please place Community Library at the very top of your load order, and Compatibility Framework at the very bottom. If that doesn't work, try placing this mod further down in the load order. If the problem still persists, disable all other addons except the ones required by this mod, enable your mods one by one, and see which one is causing the issue.

X happens when I do Y, even though it shouldn't. Why?

Your other mods are most likely causing a conflict. The first thing you would need to do is to update each and every single one of your other mods to make sure they're not the ones causing the problem. If you've done that and the issue persists, try respeccing out of this subclass before updating it, then respec back. If that doesn't help, disable all mods apart from the required ones and enable your them one by one to see which one is causing problems. Once you've done that and the issue still persists, you are welcome to open a bug report.

My mods are designed to be as non-dependent on other mods as possible, and I'm not responsible for issues appearing when playing with multiple mods. I will not go out of my way to accommodate or implement workarounds to make it compatible with mods other than the ones listed in the Required files section. If the authors of other mods that cause conflicts wish to do so, they may.

Can you make a version where everything is unlocked by the time you reach level 12?
    No.

Will you make a custom class icon? I demand a custom subclass icon/I can't stand seeing a skull icon.

I have no such plans at the moment. We'll see if I have the time and energy to spare in the future.
The skull icon is a mod conflict. Read about those above and please do not bother writing a comment before you've read it.

I am a gamepad user and after every shift the togglable raining visual effect passive appears in my selection wheel and messes the hotbars, and yet every time I need to turn it off since it does not record a former user choice
I enjoyed this mod a lot still I have a little request: if there can be a simple optional patch to simply remove the passive? Or at least not let it rain in sunny days or indoors or underground?

Hello ! I am having a bit of an issue with Storm Shifter's "you add your Wisdom modifier to your Lightning, Thunder, or Cold damage rolls" effect :

I dual wield a Random Greatsword and the Mourning frost Staff, then enchant the Greatsword with Elemental Weapon Cold and activate the Storm Shifter class action.
When I attack with the GS, I correctly see the 1d4 cold damage roll, the +1 from Mourning Staff, but not any increased damage from Storm Shifter (despite having 16 in Wisdom).

Is it me misunderstanding how Storm Shifter should work, or do I need to start checking for mod conflict to troubleshoot it ?

I'm honestly not entirely sure if the game sees that bonus damage as damage dealt by you per se, in which case it wouldn't add the modifier to the damage rolls. If that's the case, that would explain why there's no bonus damage.

I purposefully added the example of the Mourning Frost for that. Since Mourning frost adds the damage to Elemental Weapons, there is indeed a way (since the games does so).
However my usefulness stops here, since I have no idea if there is a way to check how the game does this to replicate it in the mod. I totally understand if that's something you want to place under the rug for now or forever.

Btw, Hunger Of Hadar's cold damage behaves the same way (since I think the zone does the damage, not the player itself).

Weird. I'm in the process of revamping the subclass, where the bonus damage will either be removed or changed up, so we'll see where we end up. Thanks for letting me know though, I'll take a closer look later!

I would cast my humble vote to keep it in some form or another, as I really liked the multiclassing potential it gives.
Tracking the mod to be notified of your revamp, thanks for engaging with the community !

Lightning and Cold damage is pretty overtuned due to the presence of the Wet condition, which is why we're looking at alternatives, but we'll see! Tracking is a good idea, so keep an eye out 😊

Before I even start with any of your Mods, (Pulling down this one, Circle fo Stars, and the Star Sorcery to start with) I HAVE to say this:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the in depth and well written Descriptions. There are a lot of "Good" Description pages out there, but many of them don't go into the full depth of detail for each of the bonus effects, relying on screengrabs of each tooltip in the Photos. No shade to those people, ot works, but having the full level progression in front of me in one place is probably the single strongest reason why I am pulling down these sub classes. It really shows the love put into these.

Thank you very much for the kind words! 😊 That's what I wish to see myself in mod descriptions I read, so having it in my own is an absolute given! I'm glad it's appreciated 😁

Thank you so much for this mod!

I love the idea behind this. This is exactly what I wanted out of Tempest Cleric/Storm Sorcerers.  I craved more lightning and thunder spells and boy looking at this mod makes me feel so happy lol.

I'm downloading it now.  Later on this week I will update this post with my thoughts on the mod and then endorsing it.

Thank you very much! 😊 I feel the same way, so it was indeed a nice supplement to storm themed subclasses! Let me know what you think when you've tried it out for a bit!

Is there a way for us to get Compatibility with other Subclasses so the subclass icon shows OR can we get a subclass icon? seems a bit janky without one. big sad

🤷🏻‍♂️ I've always felt like Witch Bolt is less nature-y and more occult-y, but that might just be because of the name.

I get where you're coming from, but Circle of Wildfire for exameple doesn't have Fireball, so there is a running theme of subclasses not getting access to every single thematic spell in the game. I wouldn't want to change things up without ThisRockIFound's approval, since they came up with the subclass, so we'll see what happens!

    Hello,

Thank you for this mod, it is wonderful.

Have you considered making Storm Shifter not apply to Damage Riders? Right now, the wisdom modifier applies separately to lightning charge and Mourning Frost damage for example. With 20 wisdom at level 4 (with Auntie Ethel's hair) and a measly Spellsparkler, I was dealing +10 dmg with every lightning/thunder/cold spell. To me it trivialized combat encounters to the point I stopped using equipment with Damage Riders, which is unfortunate because they are very thematic.

    Thank you, take care.

Absolutely this, mods that go past lvl 12 aren't worth it because the classes aren't fleshed out or functional really past that (even with unlock level cap and 5e spells etc).

There are a lot of mods that remove the level restriction—the one I hear the most about is probably UnlockLevelCurve but I don't use it myself. Not entirely sure what Catwalrus is saying though.

I think what they mean is that once you reach level 12, you can't level the class up further and you have to multiclass out of it. They want more features at level 15 and so on.. However, I think the mod is fine how it is and I installed a mod that makes multiclassing with druids a lot better.
