Please Note: If you're having issues with the Gale versions(paks) resetting BG3 Mod Manager please read this;
The issue comes from having both(Default and Longer) .paks in your mod folder. You should only ever have ONE version, so either Default or Longer. Never both. They are bundled in the same zip for convenience but I will separate the two PAKs (Default and Longer) and add more clarification to hopefully avoid the issue from popping up in the future. This is not caused by the mod itself but by having two versions conflicting with each other in the mod folder at once.
This explains why I was unable to replicate the issue, thank you Kalnessa for the info over in the bug reports^^
So to summarize:
Only ever have one Gale version in your mod folder at a time.
The Tav version can safely be added along with whatever Gale version you choose as it's a separate mod entirely.
Examples: You just want Gale to have luscious locks? Only install one Default or Longer version, either a PAK or a replacer.
You want to stylishly match with Gale? Install the Tav version along with your chosen PAK or replacer for Gale.
Or install just the Tav version if you want Gale to retain his vanilla hair.
Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. I'll be looking into any issues the latest patches might've caused and will update the mod if necessary ^^
Update: PAK versions have been updated to add the hair to Gale in the epilogue. Please note: The replacer versions are the 'safest' versions. They can be added, swapped and removed mid-playthrough and new patches will not 'break' them unless Larian changes something drastic. They also do not require mod fixer or any other mod to work.
The PAK versions, as with any PAK mod, should not be removed mid-playthrough as you will very likely experience issues loading a save that is missing a PAK mod it previously had. A new patch might also require an update to the PAKs. Mod-fixer is also necessary for the PAK versions to work.
Please keep the above in mind when installing your chosen version.
I need help, I'm trying to manually install it and I feel like I'm doing it wrong or I'm missing something. I'm new to adding mods so idk what I'm doing. I'm confused with the ReadMe instructions and at the "BG3 root directory" part and the steam library part.
Hey Ellie, i had the same problem as you. You probably figured it out by now, but just in case (or for the next person): It's under This PC\ Volume D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data just copy the Generated folder into the Data folder. That's it:)
I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I wanted to know if I install this mod manually (the replacer version), will the game think it is modded or not? I'm doing a completely clean reinstall of the game now because I want to do an honor mode run and get the achievement AND the golden dice, but I love your Gale's updo mod sooooo much that I want Gale to always have the updo.
I was hesitant to use this mod because Gale is my favorite. Really the pictures don't do justice how good he looks in game. This with the younger Gale mod is how his model should have looked in the first place. Excellently done!!!! Thank you!!!!
HEY THERE! i just want to say this is frickin GAME CHANGER, ESPECIALLY FOR GALE!, i cannot go back to default hair, just uuugh gods i can see developers at larian HQ flipped that this hairstyle SHOULD BE FRICKING CANON instead!
hey so, uhh i just making this hair style mod patch for my custom race, its still hidden for now, initially i made it for my private use, but now im thinking to release the patch, do i have you permission?
first off, i ADORE this mod. gale has never looked better, and i can't see him with his vanilla hair without feeling like it's wrong
however, i was wondering if there's a way to make it lighter? this image is of the vanilla color grey 0 https://i.gyazo.com/a472de8bff029d74a3d3937f1fdc5990.jpg, and this one is of the vanilla color white 1 https://i.gyazo.com/6b8d416b25baefa38d29bec3995db375.jpg
they are barely different at all, and i can get them a bit lighter with the white in highlights and greying, but it's still pretty grey. this is, obviously, not the end of the world and if the answer is "no" or even "yes but i don't want to", or even no answer at all, that's totally fine with me, it's both your mod and your time! but i thought i'd ask just in case it was possible and you were willing, because if so that'd be super amazing
anyway, thank you so much for this mod, it's in my short list of "things i use even when i'm technically playing in vanilla" because i love it too much to ever not have it!
