It does indeed work with patch 7, just know two things: After you release something from it or catch something with it, the flask will be on the ground underneath them. It's small and easy to miss. And also the first time you use the original that holds the spectator, the spectator will still be hostile to you. I used my gloomstalker to make sure I went first, picked the flask off the ground, and threw it at it to catch it again and it's been friendly since.
There's a more current similar mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/12390
iirc, it's not quite exaaaaactly the same, but pretty close (to the point it uses the Poke name) I have no yeas or nays on it (but I loved this old one), just fwiw
Just saw a video about this mod and it looks AMAZING but unfortunately I’m on PS5, are there any plans to bring this mod to console? Is it even possible?
No. That one's a toggle. 0 for no, 1 for yes. But if you turn it to a yes and then change "SAVING_THROW_DC_OVERRIDE" to a number, that number is the one they have to roll to avoid being pokeball'd.
ok so please tell me if this is in one of the other files or if it simply doesn't work that way but essentially using the flask is almost more to make future encounter harder not easier. i mean all it does is remove a creature to be added to a future fight right? i know it is dominated when released from the flask but it doesn't make it an ally just not an enemy and that's only for a couple of rounds right so after the couple of rounds you will be facing a group of cultists and a spectator. that is not exactly what i expected from the mod, i played almost every pokemon game ever and i don't remember ever getting murdered by my bulbasaur. i went a bit of tract but what i am asking is if there is a way to really make the monster an ally instead of a temporary neutral observer followed by an enemy.
If you go to AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Script Extender\ReusableIronFlask You'll be met with a config file for the flask, you can change how long the captured creature is allied with you. These instructions are on the mod's description page along with other things to help tailor the mod to your liking.
What would happen if you threw this flask at a player character, then transferred the data to another file. I guess what I am asking is, can you potentially store a character in the flask and have another fil's players fight it in a battle? Sort of like a mini boss fight?
I know nothing happens when I throw it at my party members in solo play. But I assume you mean when playing multiplayer, with several actual people playing? Hrm. That is a seriously neat idea, actually.
Been a lonnnnnnng time but yeah, I remember it clearly. Caught the lava golem back in the Underdark. Think it was back before the game fully released though? Perhaps they removed that ability at some point.
lol i thought of it as of a basic feature myself. I kept this thing for the whole run thinking it's empty, and then second encounter with a hag happened, and so i thought "resurrecting every time, huh? HOW ABOUT GOING TO PRISON?" and threw the flask. Imagine my face seeing a beholder appearing out of it xD
