I want to start by saying I am so thankful you made this mod. I am glad someone did. It can save the game for me. But, I can't get it to work. Everytime I launch the game and start, check to see if the narrator is disabled because I have someone at camp I can talk to trigger it, still there. Can't get rid of her. Vortex says it is enabled, but not installed. I manually installed per your instructions. Vortex claims the installer is not recognized and bugged. What am I doing wrong? I am very tech illiterate so I am sure this is user error. Because this game unplayable for me with the narration, and I would like to play it. And you are the only person who has made a mod like this.
It's your third point that I agree with wholeheartedly.
It's an absolute crime to tell me whether I feel a character is truthful or lying, and point out the possible inferences I should make. Especially in a game with nuanced characters, and discerning the extent you just play along, or not. There's difference between just reading a plaque verbatim, and telling me the inferences.
It would be a forgivable if the narrator was actually someone you meet in the game, a real character. Many games do this for little parts that have narrations. That way, you can discern whatever biases the character may have. But having the "4th wall god" tell you what is right or wrong - An absolute crime in storytelling. But then, this permeates the entirety of the media we consume - unnatural and terrible exposition.
For example, a normal person would almost never call their parents by their name, unless you inquired. But in media, you might hear two characters greet each other like "John, My brother, I've missed you".
Totally Agree with everything you describe, narrator sucks. . & is limited & stupid that everyone has the same, they should of had personal inner voice narrating that would of been better, though still likely get old quick.
Thank you very match for this option. Now the game became playble for me. Athough I play dnd wih DM I still cannot listen to narrative voice in my individual adventure, I prefer to choose intonation of narrator text.

Anyways, that's enough of my tangent - thanks!
mod
ever
She may be great actress, but that ASMR-sultry-fry bullshit irritates me as hell, I cannot stand that voice and is the reason I droped this game
Thanks
