Reworked mod structure, standalone and SE now share the same version and have to be updated for each game patch to prevent mismatch errors. Added a universal SE version that supports any game patch but does NOT support the MP patch. This version should also work better with vortex.
The older versions of PLB stopped working (I had up to seven people in my party, one left on their own and could not re-join).
I downloaded the new version of the mod (Party Limit Begone SE v2.1) and followed the instructions to get the mod working with Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager (BG3MM).
Just a heads up in case anyone else has an older version of the mod and you experience these symptoms:
1). Mod worked fine up until late game (Act 3).
2). A certain companion leaves the party and goes back to camp, on their own, after a certain big fight.
3). Talk to certain companion in camp and they've calmed down.
4). Ask certain companion to re-join the party, they can't, as the party is full (even though you have more than four party members already with the old PLB mod).
5). Update the mod to the BG3MM version, following the instructions.
6). Certain companion can now join your party (so you now have more than four party members).
Some ingame events are simply hardcoded for 4 party members and will glitch out. This is usually solved by either dismissing the additional members/players or by teleporting back and forth.
Is there a list of what all events are Hardcoded for 4 party members? I've been getting a lot of CtD in Act 2 and after some experimentation, I think I narrowed down the cause of the CtD to this mod.
Example:
Last Light Inn
Upon meeting Jaheria for the first time I get about several dialogue lines in and the game crashes. (Tested this 3 times with party larger than 4)
Was able to finally get through the full dialogue with a party size of 4.
beside Last Light Inn, I also have same problem with Moonrise Tower, if I go inside with more than 4 members, ram usage will reach ~8.2G, then the game crashes. If I split the group into two teams, one goes inside, others wait outside (or stay at the camp), there will be no crashes at all (same for Last Light Inn).
If anyone else loses your party members to the invisibility bug in the Grymforge boat AND THEN dismisses said party members only to discover they are GONE GONE (and I mean, from everywhere, including ALL camps, not just still invisible) here is how I fixed it instead of replaying through the entirety of Grymforge:
I downloaded Focus' Lodestones mod after dismissing ALL party members, resummoned the missing party members on the Underdark Beach before Grymforge using the lodestone mod, rode the boat across to Grymforge with the missing party members which got rid of the invisibility "party member is in a cinematic" or whatever bug. Party members still had all gear, experience, etc. Nothing was missing.
Hope this helps someone else in this instance or another.
Also, the Lodestone Mod is now bundled with someone else's dye mod because of some weird Nexus drama, so it's kind of hard to find, and I can't remember which dye mod.
I finished the game thanks to your mod and am trying to recreate it with 5 pcs made by me, but the multiplayer file does not seem to work at all, I can change to size to 2, 3 or 4 not the 5, 6, 7 or 8 like previously. More people seem to have this issues, I've reinstalled the game and mod several times and it isn't fixing the problem. Any tips?
I've downloaded the SE version as well as the Script extender, but im still getting errors saying that its missing the script extender. - I put it in the bin file like it says, i also did the tools>download thing in the mod manager but it still has the error? Anyone got any idea what it could be?
I've downloaded the mod using vortex but whenever i try start a new game i still only have 4 as my highest number of slots. ive tried uninstalling and re installing the other versions and asked for help from friends that downloaded the same version at the same time with the same other mods as i have and no one can figure out my problem any help would be appreciated
Im pretty sure the party limit part is working, ive been able to get more than 4 npc companions in my party, However i the multiplayer patch doesnt let me have more than 4 real people in my session
Sadly the mod doesnt work for me anymore. Tried all versions but I am unable to get anyone in the party beyond 4 players for a standalone game. Could someone help me to get it to work again?
