Hi, this seems a bit, uh, cheaty. But I like the idea! Do you think you could simply change the Ring of Flinging to have something similar to the basic benefit of the Ring of Returning, and add extra copies of the item at the two later game merchants, while making it so that only one ring works on a single person at a time? And make sure it ONLY functions while wearing the ring (like, the ring works only on the main held melee weapon, and then only if it already has the throwing property already!)? And remove the rest of the items? And make sure it still has the higher rarity (and cost!) in Honor mode? Maybe even bump the base price up? This item having a cost of 14 and the other weird items existing feels a bit... unimmersive. And I'd like a few more restrictions on use!
Hi! I can make it so, that it the buff is only active if you wear the ring. To make only one work for a person is hard to do. But i think, that its not such a thread, because, when the buff is removed from all weapons, when you don't wear the ring limits it anyways. Costs can also be adjusted. Removing the Throw Property would remove RP possibilities. But i could do it on the most basic version. Because the Spellbound is reasonable to add the Throw property, because its like a dancing weapon. Soulbound is the cheaty version, by design.
I dont like to change existing items, but if you want to have a ring of return with fling benefits, i can add a version that does that.
Well, I was just throwing ideas out, but I would like some less-cheaty versions so I can have my fantasy of 'everyone gets a throwing and returning weapon that suits them, in a way that isn't immersion-breaking'.
Why don't you do a few options that feel like they make sense to you and don't break the game and feel immersive?
You can take off the ring after you have bound a weapon. The Buff should persist until you bind another one. The buff also remains on the weapon after rest.
But if the buff somehow does not persist, i can add feats aswell, that bind a weapon automatically, when you equip it.
I'm using this with Astarion to make him a dagger-throwing bastard, and it's lovely. I know people have asked, but do you think it's possible to add the weapon effect to the throw? For what I've gathered, normal throw doesn't work, BUT enraged throw does apply weapon effects. I'm unsure if you could work something out that way, or maybe add (if doable) enraged throw for the feat?
Also, would it be pretty broken if there were additional underpants with the other two rings?
Hm, i'll look into it again. Its pretty tricky, because the game simulates that some effects of items are applied, but in reality they are hardcoded into the Throw-Skill. The problem is, that you don't have a weapon in hand, that the game has a reference to the weapon functor anymore. Frenzy Throw is identical to normal Throw, Codewise, it just adds Strengthmodifier to the Damageroles.
Underpants i can add. Also stuff for the Instrumentslot is doable.
Love the mod, tho is there any way you can add it as a permanent effect instead of until long rest? Patch 6 added it as a QOL thing for the Pact of the Blade, and my ADHD having ass forgets about it ALL the time.

Is it normal ? Or this version is corrupted ?
Thx !

The weaponfunctor tho is still resisting hard.
