You can do it yourself with the BG3 Modder's Multitools program. 1. Unpack the ZIP file. 2. Place the PAK file into BG3MM 3. Click Shortcut>Unpacked Mods 4. Navigate to the folder of the mod you've just unpacked. 5. Delete the entire "Story" folder. 6. Back in BG3MM, drop the entire "Restorable Inspiration Points" folder from the root "Unpacked Mods" folder into the blue square. 7. Place the newly created mod ZIP into your mod manager. 8. Done.
Thanks, just confirmed myself it works just fine, too. Just need to be aware the optional files only change point caps, you do still need a main file to restore points.
I’m sure that I’m being dumb, but I cannot work out what combination of files/settings to use to get the number of inspiration points I have to match the number of background goals achieved.
Thanks for your work and sharing, Kudos previously given!
I would love to use 'Unlimited Inspiration Points' but not Restoring on Long Rest. The instructions on the Description page are a little confusing, Is it possible to just use an Optional file? If not, could you please make Unlimited Inspiration Points, only mod?
Hello! First, I want to thank you for your mod. It's essential to my play style.
I'm wondering if you would consider releasing a version without Mod Fixer included in the .pak code. On the one hand, it would make it easier to trouble shoot mod issues, especially considering that the Script Extender already includes the same recompiler functionality and on the other hand, so many mods include Mod Fixer in their .pak code, that I'm concerned of the same code being repeated in the save file causing problems.
Just a request if that's okay, is it possible to make it so that you don't get inspiration normally, and long resting is the only way to get inspiration?
The way I envision this working would be that you would pick and choose from the following:
sidenote, anyone is free to use these concepts, but I may someday create a mod exactly like this - it's on my list of possible mods to code.
Initial Point Cap
Predefined Quantity; ex: 1 point; 4 points; etc.
Inversely Proportional to Max Party Size; ex: 4 points with 4 chars; 3 points with 5 chars; 2 points with 6 chars; 5 points with 3 chars; etc.; or, some multiple of this, such as: 8 points with 4 chars; 6 points with 5 chars
Cap Gain Trigger Cap increased by #pts when...
Reaching # of background goals milestones; linear scale or some kind of curve
Gaining a new goal
Leveling up or reaching the point in which you can level up; resulting in cap increases corresponding to player level
Consuming some kind of new (or old) in-game item; such items can be added to loot tables with a configurable probability, added to quest rewards, or otherwise obtained by some means
Completing any quest
Cap Gain Quantity Cap increased by...
Configurable predefined integer
Curved scale
Quantity proportional to in-game value; such as player level, number of goals complete, etc.
Inspiration Point Gain Trigger Gain #pts when...
Everything from the Cap Gain Trigger section
Long-resting
Converting unused XP from current level at a set rate; linear or curved scale
