About this mod

I added some new legendary weapons to the game. My goal was to make them more than just a ball of stats, and to give them interesting interactions with existing equipment.

Have you found yourself wanting more from the legendary weapons this game provides?  My aim with this mod was to create some legendary weapons that:

  • Are more than just a ball of stats
  • Utilize passives and spells otherwise unobtainable in the game, or locked to bad/uninteresting equipment
  • Are just overall fun to use (balance not required)

I would be lying if I said I did my best not to overtune them, but hey, whatever.  It's a mod, and I've enjoyed playing with them.  I tried to include an array of weapons so that just about any build could find something interesting.

Known Bugs and Conflicts
  • Any mod that alters Vicious Mockery is incompatible with the base version of this mod. If you have another mod that modifies Vicious Mockery (or if you want your Vicious Mockery unchanged), use the secondary version of this mod that does not alter Vicious Mockery.
  • While Singularity is equipped in one hand, if you knock out an enemy with a non-lethal, main hand + offhand combined attack, the character wielding Singularity will also be knocked out, and only forced to wake up through death or a long rest. I'm fairly confident this is an issue with how Larian's nonlethal attack function interacts with self-damage and not the weapon itself, since this mod doesn't touch anything related to nonlethal attacks. I tried implementing workarounds, but no dice. If you want to dual-wield Singularity and use nonlethal attacks, make sure to toggle off dual-wield followups by either pressing R or clicking the icon underneath your weapon to the right of your character portrait.
  • This is not a bug, but something to be aware of--Elegy cannot deal non-lethal damage because of its passive. Additionally, the way the damage formula rounds the target's HP value, it will always be 10% of their HP rounded down. So, for instance, a 65 HP enemy will need to be reduced to 5 or fewer HP to be culled, even though 6 is less than 10% of their maximum.

Version 1.3.2
  • Fixed Supernova's second passive not displaying correctly

Version 1.3.1
  • Fixed Thundergod's Wrath not working with Extra Attack, and made it so that it uses a melee attack roll, rather than a Dex save

Version 1.3
  • Added Elegy
  • Increased the save DC on Thundergod's Wrath so that martials could actually deal relevant damage with it
  • Added an electric visual effect on Darkening Skies
  • Nerfed Bitter Expanse a bit, making its Frozen application less consistent
  • Fixed a bug where Singularity's regular longsword skills were unusable
  • Fixed Supernova so that it only accrues Heat stacks on its own attacks

Version 1.2
  • Added Darkening Skies, Moonlight Bastion, and The Cutting Word
  • Fixed Gravity Hammer sometimes not working with Smite
  • Added a knockback and damage effect to Gravity Hammer's on-melee crit explosion
  • Fixed some tooltips, and altered others for better flavor
  • Scattered the weapons among Act 3 vendors' stock
  • After many attempts to fix Bitter Expanse (it either never applied Frozen or always applied Frozen), I've decided to give it a constant chance to Freeze, but on a low DC. As far as I can tell, Encrusted with Frost is bugged, and I don't have the know-how to fix it. If anyone downloading this mod has any insight on the matter, please let me know

Version 1.1
  • Added Crescent of Heaven
  • Fixed Bitter Expanse not freezing enemies
  • Fixed Supernova being equippable in one hand, and letting your other weapons apply Oil of Combustion while it was equipped.
  • Changed Gravity Hammer to be primarily Bludgeoning damage, secondarily Thunder damage, and reworded its tooltip for clarity.
  • Slightly lessened Singularity's self-damage on both normal attacks and Supermassive Strength
  • Altered tooltips for better flavor.

Anyway, here are the weapons!

Gravity Hammer
  • UUID: 7711115d-db74-4dee-8f24-103e298260f5
  • Maul, Heavy, Two-Handed, Thrown
  • It explodes, knocking nearby targets prone on crit, returns when thrown, and deals extra thunder damage.
  • Purchasable from Bumpnagel in the Ironhand hideout.

Cutlass of the Verdant Hills
  • UUID: 786cd3cd-ecf4-426a-8a6f-daf06497ab16
  • Scimitar, Light, Finesse.
  • Replenish your movespeed on kill or crit, build momentum with each hit, and run around the battlefield like a certain little hedgehog.
  • Purchasable from Roberon Silt at Wyrm's Crossing. I have no idea why I gave it to him of all vendors, but that's where it is.

Singularity
  • UUID: 958421b2-1c7c-4605-bf04-b1a0faa7d84f
  • Longsword, Versatile, Finesse.
  • Endure constant force damage to create black holes centered on yourself, while choosing to suffer further damage for extra attacks each turn.
  • Grants two abilities: Supermassive Strength, which is an altered Martial Exertion, and Event Horizon, which is a Black Hole centered on the wielder.
  • Purchasable from Bumpnagel in the Ironhand hideout.

Supernova
  • UUID: 31e37001-3da0-4e77-aab5-ab5e21d715ad
  • Heavy Crossbow.
  • Apply Oil of Combustion with every attack, making enemies explode upon taking further fire damage.  Build Heat on each attack, then unleash it with a bonus-action-fireball (once per long rest).
  • Purchasable from Helsik in the Devil's Fee.

The Bitter Expanse
  • UUID: d7350085-69b6-41e3-86f4-ff8d0d2e2c72
  • Hand Crossbow.
  • Chance to apply Frozen on every attack while also preventing enemies from healing.  This weapon deals primarily Bludgeoning damage, so as to make the most of its status application.
  • Purchasable from Mystic Carrion.

Crescent of Heaven
  • UUID: cb37ebc8-ef6e-4508-b9d0-b13546e6ee12
  • Sickle, Light, Finesse.
  • Deal additional Radiant damage equal to your Wisdom modifier, and gain Wholeness of Body for two turns on a critical hit.
  • Purchasable from Fytz the Firecracker in Stormshore Armoury.

Darkening Skies
  • UUID: 762ee849-0b32-4477-b07b-c4c19ec39bff
  • Greataxe, Heavy, Two-Handed.
  • Accrue Lightning Charges on every hit, spend them to cast an enhanced Lightning Aura, and spam a once-per-turn melee Call Lightning. This version of Call Lightning uses the Attack action, so you can still make an extra attack or two on your turn.
  • Purchasable from Entharl Danthelon in Danthelon's Dancing Axe.

Moonlight Bastion
  • UUID: 224008d7-f056-4913-841e-ea5b22768168
  • Quarterstaff, Versatile.
  • Gain free Spirit Guardians upon entering Wild Shape, but become Lethargic when exiting your Wild Shape.
  • Purchasable from Helsik in the Devil's Fee.

The Cutting Word
  • UUID: ec75a1f9-61df-4ed8-bcce-b0e3fdea153f
  • Rapier, Finesse.
  • Mock your enemies as you attack them, applying the Vicious Mockery debuff, demoralizing their allies and inflicting psychic damage in an AoE.
  • IMPORTANT:  This weapon overwrites Vicious Mockery, turning it into Mocking Strike, a generic melee weapon attack accompanied by an insult.  As far as I found (and believe me, I looked), this was the only way to use Vicious Mockery's voice lines in any capacity.  The ability seems hard-coded, and I figured that the spell doesn't see a lot of use so a good portion of people wouldn't care if I overwrote it.  In case you do, there is a separate version on the Download page that keeps The Cutting Word around, but makes it so that it doesn't overwrite Vicious Mockery.  It's functionally identical, but you won't be able to use Mocking Strike.  If you have insight on how to circumvent this issue, please contact me!
  • Purchasable from Exxvikyap in the Rivington Armoury.

Elegy
  • UUID: 8a66818f-ae6b-41ff-b570-085086540c95
  • Greatsword, Heavy, Two-Handed.
  • Execute enemies under 10% HP, summon zombies as you slay, and use a modified version of Phalar Aluve's weapon skill.
  • Purchasable from Mystic Carrion.

Enjoy the product of my three days' hyperfocus!  I'm pretty satisfied with the work I've done here, so it's unlikely I'll be adding any more weapons to the mod unless inspiration strikes.  I've included the UUID's for Script Extender users, but all of these weapons spawn in the Tutorial Chest, so click here to get that if you don't already have it installed.  Alternatively, you can wait until Act 3 and grab them from vendors all across the city.  Huge thanks to AnteMaxx for his tutorials, and the Larian Discord.  This is the first mod I've ever made, and it was only possible through their help.
