any updates on the fix for the mace still looking like a mace instead of a longsword? in my game I have the stats of a longsword and the actions of on but the model is still a mace
Tried everything listed and it isn't working for me. The weapon model stays a mace no matter what along with keeping a mace icon, however the weapon type is a longsword.
Yeah, I've gotten a few reports of that. I'll create a new version that adds a proper one to the tutorial chest. It's not the same as getting the original one changed, but at least it's a good middle ground while I try to figure out what's going wrong
I love this sword but I miss the glow of the mace.....it seems like we have to pick our struggle! Thank you for the mod, it deffo resonated as a sword as a paladin.
For some reason this only changes the weapon TYPE to longsword even though it still looks like a morningstar/mace. I was hoping the appearance changed too but even obtaining it fresh off the altar & moving around the list nothing worked.
From his mod for the Phalar Aluve, it seems it should be working by changing the model too. But then again, Legendary weapons have custom models so I doubt he made a custom one for this mod. That's too bad cause when I thought of a Life Priest using a legendary weapon (specially seeing this one's abilities), I thought of Anduin and his Shalamayne. Also, Life Priests already have the Devotee Mace as a Mace which is arguably better for healing...
Most likely what's going on is the one that you pick up from the altar is using a different ID than the one I found linked from the stats. Looking through the files though, the only other mention of "CRE_BloodOfLathander" I'm able to find is the map data, but am unable to spawn it in correctly to see if it might be using a different model or if it is giving a different item on pickup.
I did notice a seemingly unused item in the files that uses the stats of "CRE_BloodOfLathander" and is what the original Blood of Lathander I modified inherits from, but it uses the wrong name so I thought it was unrelated. I uploaded an optional file "LongswordBloodOfLathander-SunMace" that changes that model to be a longsword as well as restore the relationship between those two files. Would you be able to download this .pak and let me know if that worked?
That is really strange. Is it possibly conflicting with another mod?
That is the weapon I found that Blood of Lathander inherits from and had changed as well. When I spawn in both weapons, they are both longswords for me, as well as the Dawngrip Mace that you linked is no longer is inheriting the name from the actual Dawngrip mace with UUID: e3b2adb6-7493-466e-9c65-4281fb74e83f

I dropped the weapon from my inventory and it became a longsword. Only the icon and description remains mace. I loaded the one first but didn't try dropping the weapon. Once I loaded both I dropped the weapon and that worked, except for the icon and weapon description. They are still the mace. Thanks for the mod!!!
Edit: I just tested it. I needed both files for the dropped mace to turn into a longsword. Icon and description unchanged except says longsword info with mace picture.
Yeah, either forcing the game to reload the weapon, or finding a way to modify the map file for it seems to be the most likely solution.
I'll update the description to include a blurb about how it doesn't seem to be spawning right naturally. I doubt I'll make much headway in resolving this until I actually get a save file far enough in the game to encounter it, haha! For now my last guess would be to only activate this mod after picking up the Blood of Lathander and already having it in your inventory.
If that doesn't work, and someone knows how to get me the exact UUID of that item, I'll be able to at least have the mod working for that scenario afterwards. Sorry!
I am not sure what happened, but it isn't working for me anymore. It stays a mace even after I drop it. Still says longsword in description though. Crazy that it quit working.
