    I would like some help please in order to change what model, textures, etc the sword uses so that I can make it look like Cruel Sting (Which I think also looks like Phalar, but I don't have it atm so I'm not 100%). What files and lines do I need to change to do that? I'm a little confused when I looked at the Weapon.txt and the _merged.lsf.lsx as to what lines I need to change. From how I think I understand, the RootTemplate in Weapon.txt is the reference to the mapKey in the _merged.lsf.lsx so what do I need to alter?

    Cool mod! I did a quick test. It is indeed found in the Tutorial Chest, in the room behind where you find Shadowheart on board the Nautiloid.

    Note that this is a Two-Handed Longsword and does not have the Versatile tag.

    Here is the sword when equipped on a level 1 Fighter:


    And here is the same sword once that Fighter is level 3:


    So the damage does scale, and later levels grant additional Lightning damage on top of the base damage.

    @Faane, would you be willing to make a variation of this sword which had the Versatile tag and made it one-handed? It could have weaker stats and I'd be okay with that. Many thanks for the sword - it's pretty cool!

      You could do that yourself since ur request is probably going to take a while to register. Just download the LSLib Toolkit and the Modders Multitool for BG3, take the .pak from this mod and use the LSLib Toolkit to unpak it, change the stats you wanna change and put the versatile tag (all of this in the stats txt file). Save the changes, pak the mod with the Multitool and install it using whatever mod manager u use.

      If I wanted to change the skin of the weapon, to another weapon from the base game, how would I do it? I loved your mod, but I was thinking about adding another type of weapon that matches my current set!

      You make it sound so simple. I think I figured out the unpack part, I think, but how do I use the multitool to put it back together? I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Loving the mod, using 2 of these on my fighter.
    I also wondered if its possible to change the model of the weapon itself to another weapon without editing any stats whatsoever. If it is, how would i go about doing this?

      You would have to unpack it and edit the root template to use whatever visual you wanted.

    The model looks really cool! Is it unique? I can't remember seeing it on any other sword in the game.
    Any chance you could make a new file that replaces Phalar Aluve's model with this one? I really like the ring hilt.

    Edit: Ahhh, it comes from the Blackguard's Sword. Well! I know it's not really to do with this mod, but. I would still like a model replacer for Phalar Aluve all the same! I don't know if that's a reasonable ask. But.

    I dont know if its just me but since the weapon will scale anyways prob should calm its dmg or the turns you get for it at the start haha. Just chunking in tactician mode - though I am using Red Mage Mod so.. maybe dual cast affects it?

    Does this item have a UUID? Or do modded weapons/items not have their own UUIDs? I'm well into Act 3 and I was hoping i could simply spawn the weapon. I'm pretty new to modding and the code structure of BG3 in general, so forgive my ignorance XD

      Every item has a UUID, even modded ones. While you can spawn it that way, I recommend getting a Tutorial Chest Summoning mod, since a lot of modded items will get put in that chest.

    Hello,

    May we have a versatile version of this weapon if possible please?  I ask because of players like myself who have sword and board as well as dual wielding characters.
    I understand if there is criticism, and I would take the time to learn modding this game if I had the spare time.  Right now I don't, so I thought I'd at least ask.
