Much apologies everyone. I realized I had overlooked 5e Spells mod, and that DiZ91891 has already implemented the effect of this mod. I will be using 5e Spells in the future and will not be developing DarknessImproved further in case of conflict of interest.
I second this. 5eSpells still has the Spell Adjust files, but they're listed as "old" with no instructions. I'd rather have a targeted spell replacement like this one.
I realize you're not developing this further, but I'm a bit sad that neither this mod or 5e Spells Adjust fully work. Characters with Darkvision can see through the item version just fine. And you able to make ranged attacks into and out of it, unlike the ground targeted version. Im starting to look into modding myself, and from what I can tell, what I want would be very difficult / impossible to implement.
Is there any way to safely remove this mod? I use BG3MM and when I move this mod to the inactive (or delete it fully), game crashes while loading session at 60%. When I move the mod back to active, it works again.
Yes that is correct. You just have to install the spell adjustment portion as well. However, you may also use DarknessImproved for just the Darkness spell
@woshikie you sure the 5e spell adjustment works the same? I recall having issues with it working properly/cleanly, which is why this mod was finally the implementation that closely mirrored how it actually behaves in 5e. Also worth noting the 5e spell adjustment mod will come packaged with a bunch of other spell changes that may be undesirable (i.e. nerfing spell durations/effects), vs. this just fixing Darkness.
I love playing Darkness + Devil's Sight combo, and having concentration need already kind of balanced it as there are a bunch of other offensive spells I could be concentrating on. However, if there's demand, I could have a more "balanced" variant, maybe lasting 5 turns, instead of 100. I'm not sure how to mod it to have increasing checks, but I could take a look next weekend when I have time :)
It isn't working for me when useing on an object, instantly loosing the concentration on the spell, so it only does a visual effect of casting it, and it consumes the spell slot, idk if i'm the only one with the problem
It's working as intended for me, but there might be some conflicts with other mod that modifys the Darkness spell. AFAIK, I don't think DarknessImproved is compatible with any other Darkness spell mods.
I'm not useing any other mod that modify the darkness spells, I'm only running a pair of mods to make guidence or create water better Other than that i'm useing visual mods like wings or basket nothing more

Edit: Confirmed that DarknessImproved is using effect from 5eSpells, I am going to work on a standalone version, but in the mean time I will add 5eSpells as a dependency. Thanks for the catch!

Do you know if those mods are conflicting?
There might be some other mods modifying the Darkness spell that are breaking the mod?
