Any chance you can put out versions replacing it with the appearance of the fancier heavy armor models? I think there are plenty in the game such as the hellfire armor you get from handing Dammon the infernal irons, or some of the heavy armor pieces from act 3. If not, can you by any chance put out a small tutorial on how you achieved doing so?
hey I recently found this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2922 that help you change the model if it helps 😁 you can also find a mod in the Mod maneger that allow you to buy upgrade versions of it 👍
Love what you done with it but i do think you could have chosen a better armor insted of the Splint Armour like the Half Plate Armour or even the armor that the Paladins that attacks the HAG has"the one in the door vision"
Is this using the model for +2 Splint armor, or the normal/+1 version? Because I saw in my games that the armor model changes. But just having basic +2 Splint armor isn't as good as, say, having Adamantine splint. So unfortunately I never really got to see the better look of that style of armor in my usual games.
Wait, you found +2 heavy armor in your playthroughs by the time you got to the underdark? Idk if its me, but I have found maybe 2 heavy armors all together, and none of them have been magical. Has made armoring a certain gith a pain.
Any possibility of making stronger versions of this? Maybe gear that levels up with you up to legendary status with added effects like some of the mod armors/weapons out there? Adding armor of persistence stats to it basically as it gets stronger. OR, maybe get in touch with with JWL to add this to the crafting system to be upgradable using soul coins.
If you unpack this and an armor from the basket mod, you could combine them to achieve that I bet. The only modding required would be getting a tool to unpack/repack .pak files and knowing a little about how the included text files work together, pretty easy to figure out so far.
Just a quick look at both and it looks like you would just need to modify the armor.txt from this mod to point to a passive.txt containing the desired boosts that you could grab from the basket mod. Change to what is desired and make sure names/IDs match, repack and play.
EDIT 2: Might need to create an xml for the name and description references as well.
