About this mod

This mod adds multiple variations of Aradin's cuirass and Kaldani's Scale Hauberk from the game's files as an armor usable by the player character. Aradin's Cuirass and Kaldani's Scale Armors Version 5.0 alpha by Eudoxia.

Compatible with Release Hotfix 1.

(Dragonborn/Gnome/Strong Body Types coming soon!).

FEATURES:

  • This mod adds Aradin's Milanese cuirass from the game's files as an armor usable by the player character in three different variations.

  • Version one is a Halfplate panoply, with assets from the Flaming Fist Halfplate and normal Halfplate armor.
  • Version two is a cuirass with the legs from the padded armor.
  • Version three is Aradin's armor as it appears by default in-game, composed of the Bandit_C armor and its accessories, and the Bandit_A legs.

  • Also adds variants with a gorget, and a modified half-plate with a gorget.
  • Adds three helmet variations available to the Flaming Fists to the game.
  • Adds Kaldani's long scale hauberk as an armor usable by the player character.
  • Rebalances all militaria item weights to more realistic values based on surviving 15th century historical weapons and armors.
  • Un-does the changing of metal gloves from steel to studded leather, a decision which had already been tried in early access and was reversed due to community feedback, and has now been re-implemented. Studded leather variants are still in the game.
  • Changes the color of Halfplate +2 back to early access version (steel with gold trim).

An OPTIONAL second version has been uploaded that adds armor class to gauntlets, helmets, and boots to make them more useful. As a result, this version implements a -3 AC rebalance to all armors. Furthermore, it also converts most single-handed weapons to finesse weapons as they should be on realism grounds.

HOW TO GET:

You must have medium armor proficiency to wear the armor pieces, and heavy armor proficiency for the visored helmet. The armor spawns in a chest on the balcony above the pool of tadpoles in the starting room when you first wake up next to the chest on the far side of the room, and the armor can be purchased off of Dammon the Blacksmith in the Druid's Grove (compatible with other mods that add items to his inventory).

KNOWN ISSUES:
  • The Githyanki Male Helmet with the Visor flipped up is off alignment with the head. This is a Larian issue with the model and not something I have the skill to fix.
  • Ears habitually stick through helmets. This is a Larian issue with the model and not something I have the skill to fix.
  • The Dwarf, Halfling, and Gnome clip heavily at the hips and legs. This is just a problem with the Bandit_C model and halfplate legs and not something I can fix.
  • There is minor clipping with the "normal height" races from the halfplate legs sticking through the skirt.
  • The gorget floats a tiny bit above the cuirass. There is nothing I can do about this.

FUTURE UPDATES:
  • Add more NPC armors (Daisy Armor, Baldur's Gate Watch, Flaming Fist, Nymessa's Leather Armor, etc. etc.)
  • Convert longswords and spears to DEX weapons.
  • Convert bows and crossbows to STR weapons.

All assets are property of Larian Studios.
