Been using this for a sword and board monk "Kensai", but just equipped "The Graceful Cloth" instead of studded leather, and realized Unarmered defense doesn't work if you've got a shiled for monk (even though it doesn't say in the descritpion), like it does for barbarian.

SO; may you add shields to unarmed defense for my favorite class motiff? Just shields mind you, don't want 30 ac wearing armor.

Won't be using the mod myself, but I can see if someone else is using this mod for cosmetic reasons or building a STR Tavern Brawler monk. Appreciate the work you do as this BG3 mod community grows with mods for every kind of BG3 mod out there.

O.o this mod defeats purpose why a monk is unarmored in the place, tinkering with notion is same it no longer being a monk. I don't see this mod getting much use. Unarmored defense feature of the monk class will outshine nearly any armor they don (few exceptions).

If you're limiting the idea to just movement speed bonus, then you're breaking the mechanics of the class itself. Instead applying to only one feature you apply it to all or you end up disabling all other monk class features. However, do what you what you want its your stupidity, plenty of great gear for a monk that  exceeds the need for "armor" in the first place.

Do you think it's okay for Wizards to cast in full armor if they're proficient in it?

(this is that, except the proficiency thing which I'm working on)

It's a mod for a game that someone bought with their own money! Let them change and customize it to their own likings!

In DND terms, all of this is homebrewing. Even if you don't think it's good, or that you'd enjoy it, its how the creator, and many others enjoy playing, and that's just fine. You should really take a step back and look at why you became so upset at someone else's fun, someone else's enjoyment and modification of an amazing experience, just because it wasn't good to YOU. No mod authors need your approval to make and publish mods that are fun for them, let alone many others. Next time, keep your mean-spirited opinions to yourself if you have no plan to play with the mod, or give constructive criticism.

I hope you have a better day friend.

Wizards are able to cast with armor if they are proficient because spells aren't nullified by armor, monks wearing 50 lbs of plate is obviously cumbersome and would slow them down, hence why it has the restriction in 5e. But who am I to judge I play the game with almost my entire party with me the whole time (thanks party limit begone!)

Nice! I've been wanting to build Lae'zel as a monk for a while now, but the Gith just get such pretty armor, that it was hard from an aesthetic point of view to justify lol.

Do you think you could somehow edit the unarmored defense that monks get to work with armor as well?

I think I would need to learn how to do use the Script Extender for that unfortunately? I only spent like 5 minutes futzing around with the ACOverrideFormula().

But I would like to have it so that WIS takes the place of DEX while wearing armor.

How the HELL is this the first mod to do this?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not dumping on other mod creators. The work y'all put in for us is astounding and I appreciate every bit of it. It's just that this is one of those weird gaps that's kinda hard to explain. Like when you don't know something that everyone else knew by the time they were 8 years old.

Anyway, thanks for filling the gap. My monk playthrough will benefit greatly from this mod.
