Update 1.5 Face-Painting Kit now has unlimited uses. If anyone knows the correct value to make conditions last forever, let me know and I will make a version where the makeup doesn't get removed with a long rest.
The summoned kit behaves exactly like the one bought in Act 3, giving you immunity to Hideous Laughter and giving you clown makeup until your next long rest. It also doesn't get consumed upon use so you can keep a copy in your inventory and reapply it when needed. Use Tutorial Chest Summoning to summon a new copy if needed. You cannot change the colour of the makeup. If the makeup bugs out and doesn't get removed no matter what you try, embrace it. You are now a clown for life. (You can fix this bug by reapplying the makeup and taking a long rest using the character that is bugging out).
Considering for future: Making the kit an independent item without Hideous Laughter immunity condition. Making the makeup effect last forever once I figure out how.
I am unsure. If you decide to test it out, please reach out to me and I will add a disclaimer. I would love to update/improve the mod but my PC is not good enough to run BG3 in it's current state.
I am unable to access any of this mod, as I am on mac and cannot install the mod using the mod managers, as neither work on mac. Only way to install mods for me is to have the UUID information.
I'm on mac too. I just installed modmanager in Parallels and then extracted mod to be able to check these parameters: <attribute id="Folder" type="LSWString" value="FacePaintingKitToTutorialChest"/> <attribute id="UUID" type="FixedString" value="046e9c92-8109-4bfe-850c-e8fbb07a9f12"/> The two which matters to make it work
Hello, friend and I were messing around with making a clown character in this and the makeup isn't working with a Ghoul's Compendium face model and I was wondering if there was any way that could be fixed?
Not by simple texture editing, no. It's actually what I tried in the beginning but since the textures of this makeup are divided into three channels with their own colours it's impossible. Maybe someday someone can make a mod that makes it work, but that is out of my personal reach.
This mod should not cause any issues as it doesn't interact with files that affect interactions or UI elements. Could you give me more info so I can help you?
1. Method of installation (BG3MM, Vortex...) 2. What other mods you installed 3. What is broken
I installed it through BG3MM. at first, I could simply not interact with items which have the gears icon. Now, if I try to start a new game with the mod installed, I get int this freaky place instead of character creation with naked people in the space. I wish I was kidding, I'm not. I swear. I think I'm like right outside the character creation visual, with all the races models showing naked somewhere. This mod is amazing I want my jester character, I hope you can help me :') I have no other mods installed. I removed everything to prevent any undesired interaction and in case delete the mod that was causing the issue, but this mod alone makes my game explode :(
Odd, sounds like you either haven't uninstalled some mods properly or your gamefiles are messed up. I would try fixing this issue by doing these: 1. Open Steam and Verify Integrity of Game Files on your BG3. This will probably not be enough to fix the issues you are facing but it's a good first step to try. - Launch game and see if it's fixed.
2. Uninstalling mod related files manually for a fresh start: If the 1st option didn't work do this. You will have to reinstall all mods after doing this. - Find your "Data" folder by going to steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3 (same route as when installing mods manually) and deleting every FOLDER inside of the "Data" folder. Leave everything else or you will have to basically redownload everything the game uses to work which will take a while. Every folder inside of your "Data" folder contains manual mods. - After this go to AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3 and delete EVERYTHING inside the "Mods" folder. This folder has all of your mods that are formatted as .pak files, which you have installed through BG3MM. - After that go back to AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3 and go to the "PlayerProfiles" folder, then go inside the "Public" folder. Delete the "modsettings.lsx" file. - After this, open Steam and Verify Integrity of Game Files on your BG3. - After Steam finishes verifying, it will download any missing files that might've gotten deleted.
Hey, nice mod, I was cheating this one painting with a cheat engine before, to get it in the early game, now its perfect to have from very beggining, just wondering if this can be done for infenity use. Today I discovered for myself this modification Aether's Black Dye also very good mod, so this adds a single dye with infenite use, so when you use it, it remaing in your invetory, so my question how do you think is it possibile to do for painting kit as well. I think this approach will be more comforatbale instead of using summoning chest each time after the rest. Do you plan to improve that or its fine for you how it work at the moment? In any case if you are wondering, it make sense to take a look in the files of the mod which I shared and figure out how author make it infinite
Thanks. I didn't have a chance to test out the mod too much beforehands but now that I have included it in my gameplay I agree that it's rather tedious to keep respawning the chest when the makeup runs out. I will take a look and see if I can make it infinite as soon as I can. Still fairly new to BG3 modding.

Is this still in the works?
