Installation: Download the latest reshade program (ver 5.9.2 if the newest is not working) and install with all shaders selected. Extract downloaded preset archive to your exe folder. Select "Simple Natural Colors v1.3.0.ini" in reshade overlay.
Set depth buffer parameters:
1) Set DepthBuffer on and check: "Use aspect ratio heuristics" and "Copy depth buffer before clear operations"
2) "Home" tab -> Edit global preprocessor definitions -> RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED set to 1 (If you don't see it than disable temporarily preformance mode at the bottom)
Detailed for those who are not familiar with reshade:
- Launch reshade installation.
- Select a game (if you don't see the game in the list then browse to "Baldurs Gate 3\bin\bg3.exe" if you use Vulkan or "bg3_dx11.exe" for directX).
- Select the rendering API - Vulkan or DirectX 10/11/12.
- Select all shaders when prompted.
- Finish installation.
- Extract preset.zip archive to your exe folder.
- Launch the game and you will see reshade overlay. Press <home> to open config panel and start or skip tutorial.
- Go to Add-ons tab, set depth buffer parameters as mentioned above. Global buffer will be enabled after restarting game.
- Go to Settings tab and Change [Home] key that opens Reshade menu to [Insert]. Home is used to center camera for main character.
- Tick performance mode on.
- Restart the game to play if changed depth buffer enabled/disabled.
P.S. It is hard to create one universal preset for all the scenes in the game. It took days to play and adjust balance. This preset is the most precious that I got. So Endorsement and feedback is apreciated.
