No problem getting extra ore, but the forge would only allow me to craft one item. After the fight with Grym, I was able to retrieve the crafted item, but when I tried to use the forge again, both the mould lever and the lava lever were stuck. Anybody with fixes?
UPDATED rather than deleted in case someone runs into the same user error I did. If a lever is red, that means that it is not the appropriate point in the forging process to use that lever. The game will tell you "stuck," but really you might be trying to use it out of the proper sequence. Also, I realized that to REMOVE a mold/mould, I had to use the lever, but to INSERT a new one I just had to click on the chamber rather than the lever. So what worked for me (and I successfully made six items): eject old mold if necessary using lever, click on mold chamber to insert a different mold. Then click on crucible to insert mithral, then run to turn on lava, then hit the lever for the forge itself. Afterward, use lever to eject mold and start over.
(Not to say that all issues are solved by the above, but this was my stumbling block/error and might help someone else.)
Thank you for this mod; having more than two options to craft was fun. I used the mod after Hotfix 7 came out, and unfortunately, the forge bugged out after 3. The lava valve could not be opened again; it got stuck, and no grease spell or higher strength helped. I had no other mod installed, only this one. I tried a long rest, another long rest doing other stuff and going back but it did not help either. So choose three that you absolutely must have and then see if you can do more after.
Cool, thanks for the update on the situation! When you get to it, would it be possible to make an addon that just adds to the tutorial chest and not vendors?
The mod works, I have a ton of mithral, but the forge would only allow me to craft 2 items, then the lava wheel gets stuck. Am I doing something wrong?
The mood seems to not always work. I did the fight with the boss once and only let me craft 4 items. As that took me by surprise I decided to reload before the fight and craft the items I really wanted. Second time only allowed me to craft 3 items. Reloaded and this time I could craft everything.
Hi, I'm already well through Act 1 with no unexplored maps, no it doesn't seem like I'm going to get any more mithral from Act1. Is there any mithral (hidden and/or ore veins) in Acts 2 or 3 where I can find some? Or do I have to buy it from vendors now?
Also, I'm def down to zero mithral in my inventory, so is it correct the forge will be jammed for me and no longer work? Is there a fix for that?
Thanks, appreciate all the work on this (and your other) mod(s).
I obtained the loose piece of mithral from the Owlbear Nest (alas, the vein in the Whispering Depths did not yield any ore, as you had predicted), and was able to fully use the forge again, so the Forge was not at all 'stuck' or anything after I had made the two Adamantine pieces earlier and exhausted my original mithral supply.
Upshot is your mod is working perfectly and on a mid-playthrough install. Much appreciated!!!!
Hotfix 17 update here, doesn't seem to work anymore.... maybe its just me? but i have the base file installed and i'm not getting any additional ore drops from the ore veins or the Lava Elemental here
Is there any way to use the forge more than twice?
You can use the forge as many times as you have mithral ore in your inventory.
I.e. if you have 8 mithral ores, you can forge 8 items, if you have 8 and later find 2 more, you can still only forge 8, if you started forging when you had those 8.
The forge jam script is tied to having one or more mithral ores. When you hit zero, after using it, it gets jammed, or if you raise the platform early.

Edit: It seems to be an issue with BG3 itself, not ur mod. Found a fix for it aswell
