I did not like the glow effect from Symbiotic Entity so downloaded v1.0 of this mod and it works great to get rid of it. Not the intended purpose of the mod, but just letting you know it still has a use case. :)
I might be missing a step, the game folder already has a data file in it, and if I extract the file to the location you're saying it says "file already exists" and there's *way* more data in their default file than the data file in the .7z
The file is smaller because what this mod does is entirely remove part of the effect. It's not a real fix, it's just meant to hide the problem until Larian fixes it.
I don't know anything about your setup, but in my case this file is provided in the Effects.pak package, not as a loose file. So if the file is already there, my guess is it's provided by another mod you installed. If that is the case, keep in mind that this fix will conflict with that mod.
The only thing I can think of that would add is the 5e Spells mod. Everything else is small status changes to things; sacred flame to attack roll, etc.
I have this bug whenever force conduit is active from the swires' sledboard shield, so it doesn't seem to be exclusive to symbiotic entity. It only started after patch 2.
Pass Without Trace also seems to have a grey version of what this mod fixes...not sure what changed in the latest patch to have the visuals mess up like this.
In Steam, right click the game entry and look for something like 'browse local files'. It will open the correct folder. If you are on GOG, there should be a similar function.

thanks for your work during the difficult times ;)

Thanks for the response :)
I've included Pass Without Trace and Force Conduit in the workaround. Please let me know if it works on Force Conduit as I haven't tested that.
I had shelved my Spore druid playthrough because of that nightmare...
Works amazingly!
Thank you!
