Welcome to the beginning of the unofficial Crafting update for BG3. You will be able to craft all arrows, consumables, throwables, and coatings that are not considered a unique story item. Additionally you can finally use all that junk and clutter such as metal utensils and wood to be broken down or smelted for crafting requirements.

Official Unofficial Crafting Update

**Disclaimer**    There are two mod files required to be installed, both of which are in the files section here. The first is a completely revamped JWL Crafting Framework with bug fixes and lore-friendly crafting stations. I want to shout out Umbra Jewels for getting me started on this Crafting Update journey. Although the updated framework was based on the heart of JWLs original, LorebasedCraftingFramework is a new mod with all assets designed from the ground up on the toolkit (keeping a few of my IDs in the txt files the same as Jewels to maintain functionality with other mods as best I could <3). I wanted to keep the framework a separate file here from the BG3 Crafting mod so that other authors can use the revamped framework for their own mods. The second file is the actual BG3 Crafting Update that allows for all of the recipes to be crafted by the Framework.

MOD CONFLICTS: Can’t be used with JWL Crafting Framework or Spawn Any Item. Uses similar coding that overlaps.

Crafting Core Framework

File Name: LoreBasedCraftingFramework

This File/Mod is the base requirement for the actuall Crafting Update Mod. On its own it does not introduce any recipes but enables for crafting to be done through Lore based crafting tools.

The crafting tools introduced are below:

Mortar and Pestle - 1 slot (UNI_MortarPestle_UC)
Advanced Mortar and Pestle - 2 slots (UNI_MortarPestle_RR)
Cutting Board - 2 slots (UNI_Cooking_Board)
Iron Cooking Pan - 3 slots (UNI_Cooking_Pan)
Forged Cauldron - 4 slots (UNI_Cooking_Cauldron)
Crude Jeweler Chisels - 2 slots (UNI_JewelersTools_UC)
Jeweler Workspace - 3 slots (UNI_JewelersTools_RR)
Jeweler Magnifying Stand - 4 slots (UNI_JewelersTools_VR)
Anvil - 2 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_UC)
Forge Hearth - 3 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_RR)
Improved Bellows - 4 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_VR)
Crude Smithing Tools - 2 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_UC2S)
Improved Smithing Station - 3 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_UC3S)
Smithing Whetstone - 4 slots (UNI_Smithing_Hammer_UC4S)
Arcane Repository - 2 slots (Arcane_UC)
Arcane Scribe - 3 slots (Arcane_RR)
Orb of Weave Dampening - 4 slots (Arcane_VR)
Garden Box - 2 slots (Garden_UC)
Large Garden Box - 3 slots (Garden_RR)

This items have been appropriately scattered throughout the game so that there is a feeling of developing your crafting skills and tools as you progress. Certain vendors may sell them if it fits with there craft in a Lore sense.

Also all stations are moveable, can hold placed items on them, and can be set up in your camps as you see fit as shown in the images.

Don’t forget to grab your crafting setups before the end of act 2 or permanently lose them at the end of act 2. Don’t worry though you can find more crafting stations in Act 3 if needed.

CREATING YOUR OWN RECIPES------> If you wish to create your own recipes JWL's guide still works

**NOTE: I did change the three Scribes from the original as outlined below, so you will have to make that adjustment to the guide when considering the tool used for the recipe **

UNI_Scribes_Tools_UC ---> Arcane_UC
UNI_Scribes_Tools_RR ---> Arcane_RR
UNI_Scribes_Tools_VR ---> Arcane_VR

QOL: Right now, some crafting stations' default action is "pickup" instead of "combine", so some crafting items you have to (right click or Press X) to access the "combining" action. I'll look to change this at some point if it can even be done, but it's more just for quality of life. More to help people not pick up their nicely placed crafting setup by accident <3

BG3 Crafting Update

File Name: BG3CraftingUpdate

This will be the ever-growing Recipe Update to keep BG3 feeling alive and immersive on each playthrough. So far it only contains the crafting of all avaliable ingame Arrows through utilization of almost all of the crafting tools and unique recipes that need to be discovered in Lore based books throughout the world. So be ready to get your inner horder goblin mode activated to search for these recipes. All will be placed in settings not locked behind certain paths so you can always find them. Additionally they will not "unlock" a recipe mechanically so you can try to find them out through your own logic and craftiness. All recipes do follow some logic in the Lore as best as I could so others could try to figure them out without the books. **All currently craftable alchemy must still use the alchemy framework in base game**

Phase 1 - version 1.4 (Complete):
- All arrows avaliable in game are craftable
- healing potions are upgradeable
- All types of metal or wood Junk is able to be broken down or used in some way. **Was not able to test every item, so if you find one you think I missed, post it and I can try to add in future updates**
- Gems are all utilized for in various ways
- Some scrolls currently utilized
- Bones and body parts are utilized in some ways
- Gardening and transmutation for all in-game ingredients.
- Throwables now craftable and utilizes all special barrels
- (An Act III Lore book I still have to test/check but everything else functional. Need to do an indepth typo check too for this addition, so don't mind the very minor typos if there are a couple in the books I will correct on review. I am a solo modder undertaking this <3)

Phase 2 -
- Will include all consumables not currently craftable that are not unique to the story
- Crafting of all scrolls available in-game
- In-game lore books for these recipes as well

Future Phases:
- Will include coatings that can be obtained in-game but currently not craftable, and that are not unique to the story.
- All dyes craftable
- Cooking various foods with ingredients
- Possibly venture into the ability to craft all magic weapons and armour using base weapons and various Lore-based crafting ingredients.
- Suggestions that others would like to see added that they feel would fit the world
- Submit Mod for console mod review by Larian.
