You'll notice on the before and after pictures that Minthara has those weird dark lines on her hand. Shadowheart has them too. I don't know what the deal is with them, but they're gone at least. I haven't been able to get rid of them from Shadowheart, if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
I can't tell if you're joking or not. They're on Jaheira's hands too, probably because they share the same base body. I just want to figure out how to get rid of it.
I can confirm that head mods that alter Minthara's appearance work fine with this mod. Body mods do not, I had More Abs Minthara installed, and this mod cancels it out...which is a shame, but fine. I prefer a clean Minthara to a bloody and buff Minthara.
You are both correct, More Abs conflicts with this. I'm sorry I thought it was working because my Minthara still had abs, but it was Ripped Physique giving her abs.
So, if you want a buff (and clean) Minthara there are 3 options and none of them are ideal (sadly).
Ask jawstarion if they would consider releasing a version of More Abs Minthara with the blood and grime values removed.
You can unpack More Abs with the Modders Multitool and set the blood and grime values to zero in Minthara's CharacterVisual.
Try using Ripped Physique instead and see if it works for you.
I think Ripped Physique works best for me. Download the PAK version (loose file version only affects Tavs), and choose the ELF_F file. Minthara uses the Elf Female base body so she (and all other female elves) will be buff.
Very nice, been hoping for something like this (I've noticed this is a thing for custom player Lolth-Sworn Drow too actually, don't know if this also effects those) but out of curiosity since you didn't mention it, does this still allow Minthara to like any other character still get covered in blood and dirt from combat?
Nice, also I decided since I typed that to make a throwaway LS Drow and, yeah that blood thing I mentioned still is a thing for them, sometimes I wonder if its another bug oversight on Larian's part honestly, just seems... odd to me its a thing with them.
I wasn't implying you do something to fix the custom LS Drow, would be great of course (or someone some day figures out a way to deal with it) but, I can't say I've even seen anyone around, mention about this which is also odd, or no one cares maybe. I mean even outside of Nexus for any mod's comments, I've looked around more than once for some kind of "fix" or just, any notions what is going on, or even if it is intentional and Larian means it that way.
Either way, I still appreciate you managed to deal with it for Minthara don't get me wrong thank you.
(Also yeah I had the first iteration installed, I just updated to the most recent one you uploaded.)
Okay i'm glad for confirmation that I wasn't losing my mind. I've been using the Divine Sister Thigh Boots from Kirbie's mod on mod.io and they were sleek as advertised on my High Half-Elf character but on my Seldarine Drow they have this weird faded grey blotchiness to them and it was driving me up the wall.
Now I realize it is probably something to do with the drow race skin textures overlapping onto some modded gear since drow skin tone has that similar affect of various spots and blemishes
That's really strange, I'm not seeing this happen in my game. All drow custom characters are fine. I even downloaded the Divine Sister Robe to test and it doesn't have the dirt issue. This is something that I would like to try to fix, but considering how inconsistent it is — it will be tricky.
The mystery continues it seems... I swear up and down this is a thing haha, but if its not for you... COULD another mod be causing it and what one?
I also swear I saw this happen the last time I had to wipe everything... like every damn time Larian did a major update and before I put the mods back on I make sure things are fine and I noticed it still persist...
My way of getting around it? I use that ASTL Elves mod, one of the sub-race drow options is basically another kind of Lolth-Sworn, but this "ALWAYS covered in a certain amount of blood no matter what you do", is not in "effect" for ASTL Elves "Lolthtouched" sub-race.
The only way a mod could be causing it would be if it overrides the character creation preset characters. The reason it doesn't happen for ASTL Elves is likely because the mod author has created new presets with no dirt.
What I'll do is whip up a mod that sets the dirt, blood, etc in all the drow preset characters to zero. I can't test it because I won't see any difference — so I'll add it as an optional download here. You can test it out and see if it works at all (if you feel comfortable doing that).
I get you, willing to try it myself for sure and see if it does something. I mean I admit I use a lot of mods but not a single one I can think of as an intentional "feature" anyway I remember at all mentioning about causing it, doubt it anyway.
It's up, in the optional files section. None of the drow preset characters had any dirt value set in their visuals, so what I've done is added a zero value for dirt. If dirt is there, it'll clear it. Soap should then get them fully clean. I think this will only work for new characters, not existing ones. In theory.
Nope, sadly the persistent always coated in blood thing, or "dirt", unchanged. Was worth a try. If the place let me copy a screenshot in a reply I'd show you but, well no its the same as it has been. I'm just grateful you were willing to give it a shot so still thanks.
Damn, I should have zeroed off the blood as well. I am sorry about that. The new version has zero blood and dirt. Don't feel that you have to keep making new players and testing this out though.
Which hate to say it and yeah I am that fast, lot of practice, swapping mods with this and testing them for other reasons (also making "burner" characters for this explicit reason too), even the update you just last did for the WIP... nothing.
Also want to mention I found a not updated in a long time mod on here, with various options one is so NO blood or dirt can happen, even that does nothing.
I am convinced at this point its a specific bug/oversight exclusive to Lolth-Sworn Drow TAVs, maybe not a mod doing it but, well I'm still guessing but I'm more lost than ever.
If I didn't mention this before and I should have, yeah this issue is noticeable on Larian's default official stuff in the game, camp clothes too. Just seems, amplified with certain mod armor I admit, and some camp clothes (that Lolth dress Bubbuli did for a direct example).
If I knew more about this stuff or just how the game itself worked, I'd take a stab at it but, I don't haha.
I don't mind really being the test subject for this, after all way above I said this is kind of a personal annoyance of mine for a long time now so if I can finally somehow have a solution, other than using that ASTL option as I said... sure. I think I will stop for tonight though.
OHHH! Something I SHOULD tell you I noticed: the photo mode they put in the game? That one option you can choose like "hide/show weapons"? The one for making characters clean? DOES make this go away. Why does that work and your mod, and other things not do it? I wish I knew but I discovered that by accident messing with it not long ago. Shame it only works while using photo mode though.
"Show Battle Damage", its that toggle specifically.
This is what I think is happening with all the permanently dirty/bloody characters. For whatever reason they have a small amount of dirt or blood hard coded in their charactervisual file. When the game loads the character it takes that value and displays the dirt or blood visual. Because it's hard coded, that visual will always be displayed. It can't be removed by water or soap for the same reason.
Why would it happen to player created characters? No clue.
Kind of makes sense, I mean based on more than my own guessing. Probably would also explain why the one and only thing that gets rid of it is that one option when using Photo Mode I mentioned. Shame more don't know about this, as I said already at the start I couldn't see anyone around bringing it up so, well that doesn't bode well for a solution probably. Just still seems odd to me this is what would result, unfortunate of course its not cool to look like that ALL the time haha.
Still, you managed to help Minthara, and some other Origin characters now, that's still a nice thing in the end.
Hey, this along with Jaheira and Aylin are great, thanks a lot. One question, do faces count as appearence, ie. will this mod clash with LoopyLoo's Alternative Minthara face?

I didn't realise it was all player Lolth-Sworn drow. That's going to be a big job.
