Wizard QoL: This mod automatically unlocks Ritual Spells and Utility Spells at the approriate Wizard Level. All unlocked Rituals and Utility Spells are always prepared and do not consume memory slots. To save valuable hotbar space, both types of spells are also consolidated into their own dedicated buttons without losing functionality.

Mod Description
Version 1.0.2 Update:
This mod is now divided into two separate files, allowing you to choose which features you want to use:
PART 1 - Ritual Casting and Always-Prepared Spells for Wizards
PART 2 - Rituals and Utility Spells Consolidated

This mod does not make functionality adjustments to the rituals and spells themselves.

PART 1 - Ritual Casting and Always-Prepared Spells for Wizards
Automatically unlocks Ritual Spells and Utility Spells at the approriate Wizard Level. All unlocked Rituals and Utility Spells are always prepared and do not consume memory slots, giving you more flexibility in how you manage your spell choices.

Automatically learned and always prepared Ritual Spells:
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 1:
    Disguise Self, Find Familiar, Feather Fall, Longstrider, Enhance Leap, Mage Hand, Minor Illusion, Light, Dancing Lights
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 3:
    Detect Thoughts

Automatically learned and always prepared Utility Spells:
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 1:
    Expeditious Retreat
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 3:
    Knock, Arcane Lock, Invisibility, See Invisibility, Misty Step
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 5:
    Blink, Gaseous Form, Grant Flight, Remove Curse
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 7:
    Dimension Door, Greater Invisibility
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 9:
    Seeming
  • Unlocked at Wizard Level 11:
    Arcane Gate

Requirement:
- Community Library = Requirement for Compatibilty Framework to function. (should be first in load order)
- Compatibility Framework
to resolve conflicts in Wizard level progression due to adding spells as Always Prepared. (should be last in load order)

This mod modifies Wizard level progression at levels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11. It will conflict with any other mod that alters progression at these same levels - including those that add new Wizard subclasses. These conflicts are automatically resolved when using Compatibility Framework.


PART 2 - Rituals and Utility Spells Consolidated
Creates a consolidated button/container for Ritual Spells and Utility Spells on your Hotbar, saving valuable space while maintaining full functionality. Every character - regardless of class - will have these consolidated buttons, ensuring quick access to both Rituals and Utility Spells.


The following Rituals will be consolidated into the "Ritual Spells" container:
- Feather Fall
- Longstrider
- Enhance Leap
- Mage Hand
- Minor Illusion
- Light
- Dancing Lights
- Detect Thoughts

- Speak with Animals
- Speak to Dead

- Produce Flame

The following Rituals are excluded, as they are already considered containers themselves and would lose functionality if further consolidated:
- Disguise Self
- Find Familiar
- Create Water


The following Spells will be consolidated into the "Utility Spells" container:

- Expeditious Retreat
- Knock
- Arcane Lock
- Invisibility (spell)
- See Invisibility
- Misty Step
- Gaseous Form
- Grant Flight
- Remove Curse
- Dimension Door
- Greater Invisibiltiy
- Seeming
- Arcane Gate
- Windwalk


The following Spells are excluded, as they are already considered containers themselves and would lose functionality if further consolidated:
- Enlarge/Reduce
- Blink
- Daylight


Requirement:
This mod uses Script Extender to provide the consolidated buttons/containers to all characters. The containers can be found in the Common Tab of your character menu.
Installing this mod on an existing save: If the containers don’t appear, simply unequip and re-equip any item to resolve the issue! Repeat this
once for every character

Compatibility & Load Order
Compatible with (probably) any version of the game. Tested for Patch 7 and 8.
Load order shouldn’t matter. Personally, I recommend loading this mod after any mods that modify spells (see Recommended Mods section).

Installation
Manually drop the .pak file from the archive into the Mods folder (located at ...\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods).
Press "Save Load Order to File" and then "Export Order to Game".

Uninstallation
This mod can be uninstalled at any point without causing issues or affecting your save game.
