Changelogs
IMPORTANT: You must complete a long rest with the items equipped once reaching the appropriate levels to gain access to the majority of the effects. If the item is unequipped the effects will be lost and require another long rest to reactivate.

This mod adds a collection of the Arms of the Betrayers legendary items from Critical Role. All items can be found in the tutorial chest on the nautiloid, or through a mod that allows summoning that chest.

Also check out my Vestiges of Divergence!

The World Loot add-on also places the items in locations around Act 2, listed at the bottom of the description.
Note: When an item is found on a character with equipment, it is equipped to that enemy and they will be able to use its effects in combat. Some base game equipment is unobtainable on this version due to being replaced on the character that originally had it. Some items will not be present unless the mod is enabled when a new game is started.

These items have 4 different power levels based on the level of the character using them:
Level 1+: Effectively non-magical items of their respective types.
Level 4+: Gain access to their Dormant State effects.
Level 7+: Gain access to their Awakened State effects.
Levels 10+: Gain access to their Exalted State effects.

Note: These items were designed with the 5e attunement system in mind, which would limit a character to having at most 3 equipped at a time. I did not implement this restriction, but would generally recommend no more than 1-2 items per character for a more balanced experience.

Installation

Installed via BG3 Mod Manager.

Arms implemented rules as written
  • Lash of Shadows
  • Will of the Talon

Changed Arms
  • All - Did not include random beneficial/detrimental properties as BG3 has no way to do this consistently.
  • Blade of Broken Mirrors - Does not require killing a humanoid to change shape, simply gives access to Disguise Self. Swapped unimplemented spells with Phantasmal Force, Mirror Image, and Hypnotic Pattern.
  • Grovelthrash - Does not grant a burrowing speed since this is not a mechanic BG3 has implemented. Swapped unimplemented spells with Flesh to Stone, Resilient Sphere, and Wall of Stone.
  • Mace of the Black Crown - Reduced bonus fire damage.
  • Ruin's Wake - Changed from a spear to a pike to increase weapon variety. Reduced bonus piercing damage.
  • Silken Spite - Does not grant a climbing speed since this is not a mechanic BG3 has implemented. Added bonus poison damage. Cannot cast Levitate due to the spell not being implemented in BG3.
  • The Bloody End - Changed from a morningstar to a greataxe to increase weapon variety.
