FAQ This is my first mod made in the official toolkit. Does this mean I will try to transfer my mods to the toolkit? I will try - but keep in mind its not a straight forward process but rather a lot of work.
Does this mean I'm back to BG3 modding? Sort of, but don't expect another 20 mods out of me. I have some plans but I'm also more busy these days.
What is the UUID for Nessa's Fang? d7f482d9-da65-476a-b4f8-6809dfd9ce4eYou can spawn in the fang and use it just fine. The story edits are just for immersion, they don't have any functionality towards her as a companion.
This mod looks great! What is the DC for Nessa's special abilities and chace on-hit to apply the statuses? I fear the abilities may be too good if the DC is too high...
the base DC is 8 for everything except bleeding, which is 10, they are however increased by Level / 2 (rounded down)
They are rolls on stats that enemies tend to have a lot of and they tend to have proficiency, so its not too easy to apply these debuffs. I may lower them a bit more still, but I have to be careful with it.
Unsure if it's something I have done, but the fang isn't spawning in the tutorial chest for me, even after updating, then deleting and re-installing the mod when updating it didn't fix it. I have tried in the normal tutorial chest, summoned one, on new playthroughs and existing ones and it doesn't appear at all for me! I was planning on summoning her after helping Yurgir bc I still want him as an ally, so I was relying on it being in the chest for use when I get to act 2 haha
Weirdly I was not! I'll try and figure out which one is causing it though. I am not a tech person so I didn't know where to begin, but now I know what to look for!
Yes! Finally a way to bring Nessa along! Thank you!
Although I wish there was a way to both complete Raphael's request (so that Astarion doesn't threaten to leave) and save her...I mean, dead is dead, right? So why does Raphael care whether Yurgir dies straight away or a bit later? Unless it's because he doesn't want you to find out about their pact.
He doesnt. You can resolve the ambush, free Nessa of the charm, have her join you against Yurgir, then kill him. Thats the whole idea why you can even talk with her, so that you have one enemy less in the fight against Yurgir and one ally more.
Astarion won't mind if you ensure him that its part of the plan, because, well it literally is.
Did you read what I wrote? You still kill Yurgir. You still complete the deal with Raphael. He still appears during a long rest and tells you about the scars.
Only if you HELP Yurgir FULFILL his contract by killing Lyrthindor, only THEN you "fail" Raphaels deal and he doesn't tell you about the scars, in which case you find out about them in Baldurs Gate much later.
The ambush doesn't matter. All that matters for Astarion and Raphael is that you kill Yurgir before you:
Kill Lyrthindor
Go back to Yurgir and talk to him
Finish his dialogue completely without pressing the "Attack" button
At any point you can attack him and kill him and it still counts for the deal.
If you do help Yurgir complete HIS contract by killing Lyrthindor, you won't get Nessa either, as she wants him dead too, just like Astarion.
The only thing that you have to understand that when you TALK to Yurgir during the AMBUSH Astrarion will moan and complain that you aren't killing him already and you can re-assure him that "its part of the plan and you gonna kill him later".
Ah, apologies, for some reason, I thought that if you didn't kill Yurgir immediately, then the deal with Raphael was off, hence my initial comment. When you replied "he doesn't", I assumed you were responding to "unless it's because he doesn't want you to find out about their pact", thereby confirming that Raphael does want Yurgir dead immediately, and delaying in any way would mean that the deal was off.
Thanks for clearing it up and sorry about the misunderstanding!
You can ignore the GustavX (Dependancy}, Gustav is what the game is labeled within the mod manager, and it's also the name of Larian ceo's dog, where Tav gets their namesake :)
Most likely, there was a comment about this here before.
GustavX is the Patch 8 addition, however, this is BY DEFAULT set as dependency (and I cant remove it without breaking my editor setup) but it isn't actually required. This should work fine in Patch 7.
Over 3000 hours in the game and I didn't even realise there was any reason to talk to her. Now I can have her as a companion?! Sometimes life just can't get any better.
Would it be possible to add a version that doesn't include her fang in the tutorial chest, as it was when first published? Feels more immersive than finding it right at the start.
I could be wrong, but I don't think this is compatable with Patch 7 (I haven't updated to Patch 8 yet as I'm in the middle of a playthrough). The mod has a dependancy, GustavX, which I think was introduced in Patch 8. On Patch 7, and without updating the BG3MM, I don't have GustavX.

None so far, yay.

Fantastic work on this mod!
Use this if you can't control yourself or you play multiplayer.
Love this concept, me and a friend want to use this mod but they are on PS (we wanna give Nessa a better life <3)
This has been on mod.io since it came out.
Happy to be proven wrong.
Very cool. Thank you.
