Thank you for updating this mod. It’s an absolute requirement for controller users. Would you consider a version that removes everything except timers during timed battles?
Hey there, thank you for updating this to Patch 8! I was wondering though, I used the lower left name and level/class only remover from the original version, would you be willing to update that version was well?
Firstly -- thank you for bringing this back, it was a core mod for me and the original being abandoned was heartbreaking.
Secondly -- I can't get this working. I prefer to keep the minimap so I've been trying those versions; first the PAK file, then the loose files. Neither seem to work for me. I have plenty of other mods but none that affect the loose files from what I can tell.
I definitely feel your pain - somehow it's a little reassuring to see that it isn't just me that this isn't working for, I honestly started to feel crazy seeing everyone else mentioning how it's working perfectly for them! I'm still experimenting and trying to find out why this is the case so if I find anything I'll let you know
Does anyone have any ideas on what kind of mods would conflict with this or stop it from working/activating? I'm at a complete loss on why this isn't working for me at this point.
I just made a version with loose files, try extracting it to your game's root directory and let me know if it's still not working, but it should be good
Did you do anything different from your previous test? The loose files version is also not working for me so wondering if there's anything you did as someone also having issues with the .pak version that was the original re-release
Sheesh then I'm really losing my mind with this. Tried to install all of the options one by one as per usual instructions and none of them work for me at all.
Sounds like maybe you have conflicting mods f3arl3s5? Some questions, I assume you are trying to add it with patch 8? What other mods do you have? I tested both versions without other mods and both are working for me so I'm not sure what is wrong
Hey yeah that seems to be the case at the moment but it's just extremely difficult to pin down which one would be the issue as everything is working smoothly in my game with everything I want except this mod, and yeah this is for Patch 8!
To be fair I'm playing with about 500 mods however it's mostly all spell/skill changes, custom heads and hairs, subclass/class mods and a boat load of equipment/clothing mods - the only UI mods I currently have(which I assume is where the conflict would be present just as an uneducated guess) are Better Map, Better Various Widgets, Better Tooltips, Better Inventory UI and Dynamic Sidebar - that's all. Do you think any of these may be my problem?
I am only using Better Map and Better Widgets myself so I know those work, but 500 mods is a lot to go through. If it were me I would search file contents of the mods folder (search containing text this mod uses like ControllerHints.xaml, etc. in a program like Agent Ransack for example). The other option is to hover over mods you think might conflict in BG3 mod manager and it will tell you what files the mod overrides
That's a great idea thanks, I actually grabbed Agent Ransack and went through my Mod Folder searching for all the listed edited files in the description;
ControllerHints.xaml
PreloadedPlayerPortraits_c.xaml
Dialogue_c.xaml
Minimap_c.xaml
Overlay_c.xaml
OverheadInfo_c.xaml
Sadly it didn't throw out any conflicts or other files using/affecting the same things so it's really quite a stump at this point.
You may need to search the "containing text" and not the "file name" when searching on there. Sorry if you already tried this. Put the mods folder path in the "look in" section. For the containing text try the file names.
Is it possible, like the old mod, to have a version that only hides the actions button reminder and that...baffling character name reminder? The other UI elements have at least a little use, sometimes. The files were labeled as "lower left corner" and "lower right corner" in the og mod's files. Either way, thanks for reviving this sorely-missed mod.

Extremely frustrating - thanks for the response
