Heya! First of all thanks for making this patch. I had no option but to update my game and since you mentioned it doesn't work for patch 8, I tried to make it on my own through the tutorial you made. I followed all of the steps, even tried to convert the wav-to-wem files one by one but when I move the audio files from the cache of Wwise to DVQR - Main soundbanks it doesn't mention that I can overwrite the file with the name that I got from unpacking Really Shadowheart.
Should I just move them from the cache (After renaming them to their corresponding file) to DVQR?
Hello. I'm proud of you for making it yourself. Sorry I couldn't make a patch 8 version.
Really Shadowheart's .wem (VORBIS codec) -> .wav -> .wem (WEM OPUS codec) The .wem file we worked on is only from Really Shadowheart Mod.
We will overwrite the modified .lsf.lsx file in the result of unpacking "DVQR - Main.pak".
The overwrite path will probably be the "Soundbanks" directory. Just put the .wem (WEM OPUS codec) in the same path.
The reason why it doesn't ask you to overwrite a file with the same name is because the .wem (WEM OPUS codec) you put in the result of unpacking "DVQR - Main.pak" is a new voice data from Really Shadowheart.
I expect that by the time I write this reply you will have already completed the patch mod.
The name of the converted .wem (WEM OPUS codec) generated in the cache folder can be any hexadecimal number. Don't forget to change it back to the original name.
It is perfectly fine! I appreciate your assistance. And if I do make the patch, I will be more than happy to send it to you so you can upload it. I do not mind because you deserve the credit of making the patch + showing good and clear instructions on making them.
The main mod just got updates that reformatted their priority, so I'm not sure how that will effect making a .pak or any potential loose files. Either format would be fine as long as this one can function the same as the main mod that just fixed the issues I was having. Thanks.
The patch is still not working for me. I installed the new version and I also took the recommendation of installing the localization. Shadowheart is still silent.
I think I'm just gonna skip out on using DVQR, it just seems like too much effort for not THAT much of a difference (Tbh, the audio has never bothered me I just wanted to try something new.)
I'm really sorry. For me it's working still with the new patch I made and for installing the optional files that replace the base game sounds. Not sure if it'd help but you could try telling SH to leave your party? I installed the new patch after I told her to stay at camp. Granted, she was still silent, until I installed the DVQR base game replacement.
Unfortunately this isn't working for me actually. When I install the Patch 8 one instead of the default DVQR main pak Shdowhearts voice disappears, her lips move but there is no voice. Other characters seem fine and when the default DVQR main pak is installed she can speak ok.
The DVQR mod just got another update. It seems that unexpected fixes are still being discovered when upgrading the mod to Patch 8. I think our great modder Aj942 will be reworking it based on this, given his passion.
When searching for the string "VORBIS", be sure to include all of them. I did a search for strings in a folder with Visual Studio Code and at first only 20,000 were found. After activating 3 files containing the search results and searching again, around 27,000 were found. It seems that when searching for a large number of strings, you have to double-click on the text file to activate it so that all the search results are displayed. (If you used Visual Studio Code)
I am using the DVQR Audio file uploaded 29 Nov 2024 which should work with patch 8 as far as I can see. The newest optional file they uploaded is the audio one that seems to work as a replacement as in you overwrite the actual files rather than install them as paks, I'm not using that as I didn't know how it would interact with this mod.
No need to apologise Aj942! I understand that this can take time, especially if you're new to doing it. I'll wait patiently and hopefully you figure it out. Since her voice seems to work ok with the default main file than I'll use that for now.
Are you able to replicate the issue I'm having or does your testing seem to work ok?
Apologies again for the delay and inconvenience. I uploaded the new version that I tested yesterday and I hope it works for you. If there's anything else I can do to help please let me know.
For me, I downloaded an optional file DVQR had posted and installed it along the patch. Tt made Shadowheart make noise again. Let us know if it works for you, should you choose to do this.
Strange, I've just tried installing the optional file from DVQR by placing the voice files in the Localization folder and overwriting, installed this mod's file and Shadowheart is still silent.
I'll try posting the new patch that I made, maybe it'll work? I'm not sure what I did but for me it worked after placing the file. I'm currently at work but as soon as I'm home I'll re-upload the patch to the one I made the second time. And again, I apologize for any inconvenience.
Just want to say thank you to both ims21c and Aj942 for working hard to make this mod in the first place and get it working for patch 8, you guys did great!

Thanks to you, Patch 8 users will be happy.
Thank you Aj942!

Good luck on getting this right though.
Do you have any idea why this might be happening?
Install the DVQR voice pack and main pack, and replace the main pack with the one from the compatibility patch.
DVQR - main.pak
DVQR - audio1.pak
DVQR - audio2.pak

Let me know if you need any info from me.
Good luck!
I think it is an issue with DVQR itself though. Tested all possible combinations and in the end I had to remove it completely.
