# Voltstrike - Progressive Weapon Mod

## Overview
Voltstrike is a balanced, progression-based weapon that evolves alongside your character throughout Baldur's Gate 3. This weapon features unique spells with a charge-based system and custom visual effects, providing a powerful but earned addition to your arsenal.

## Features
- Three-stage weapon progression tied to boss encounters

## Installation
1. Download the mod from Nexus Mods
2. Extract the files to your Baldur's Gate 3 mods folder:
- Windows: `C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods`
- macOS: `~/Library/Application Support/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/Mods`
3. Enable the mod in the in-game mod manager before starting a new game or loading a save

## How to Obtain

### Stage 1: Broken Voltstrike Blade
- Lootable from the Phase Spider Queen's corpse in the Underdark

### Stage 2: Voltstrike Blade
- Requirements: Broken Voltstrike Blade
- Loot Grym's blade from the Adamantine Forge
- Combine both items in your inventory to reforge the weapon

### Stage 3: Voltstrike Blade Ascended
- Requirements: Voltstrike Blade
- Obtain Ansur's bone by defeating Ansur in Act 3
- Combine with the reforged blade to ascend it to its final form

## Spell System

### Charge Mechanics
- Using Volt Strike applies an electrical charge to the wielder for 3 turns
- While charged:
- The wielder gains bonus lightning damage to all attacks
- Volt Strike cannot be reused until the charge expires
- Charge Release spell becomes available

### Volt Strike
- Type: Lightning-based direct attack
- Cooldown: None (but limited by charge system)

### Charge Release
- Type: Area-of-effect lightning attack
- Requirements: Must have an active electrical charge
- Special: Consumes the electrical charge when used

## Compatibility
- Compatible with Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 and above
- No known conflicts with other weapon or spell mods
- Works with existing saves (weapon will be added to specified boss loot tables)
