This mod should be compatible with other mods as long as they don't modify the progression table for 2nd level Wizards.
If you encounter any issues or bugs, please make a bug report rather than a comment so I don't have to move it manually. Also, please make sure you read the Potential Issues/Disclaimers section of the mod description before making a report—thanks! 😊
Is this mod compatible with other mods? Yes. Unless it changes the Wizard progression table for level 2, it should be compatible. If another mod does change the progression table, i.e. it's another Wizard related mod, I recommend using Compatibility Framework, which allows compatibility between subclasses. Any issues related to that mod should be directed to its comments section.
Why doesn't the subclass show up in character creation? You probably either: 1) Didn't install it properly. Take a look at the installation guide at the end of the mod description. or 2) Haven't updated all your mods. Make sure that ImprovedUI and Script Extender in particular are up-to-date. or 3) Have other mods that overwrite it. Please place Community Library at the very top of your load order, and Compatibility Framework at the very bottom. If that doesn't work, try placing this mod further down in the load order. If the problem still persists, disable all other addons except the ones required by this mod, enable your mods one by one, and see which one is causing the issue.
X happens when I do Y, even though it shouldn't. Why? Your other mods are most likely causing a conflict. The first thing you would need to do is to update each and every single one of your other mods to make sure they're not the ones causing the problem. If you've done that and the issue persists, try respeccing out of this subclass before updating it, then respec back. If that doesn't help, disable all mods apart from the required ones and enable your them one by one to see which one is causing problems. Once you've done that and the issue still persists, you are welcome to open a bug report.
My mods are designed to be as non-dependent on other mods as possible, and I'm not responsible for issues appearing when playing with multiple mods. I will not go out of my way to accommodate or implement workarounds to make it compatible with mods other than the ones listed in the Required files section. If the authors of other mods that cause conflicts wish to do so, they may.
Wow awesome subclass. I've been waiting a long time for Golgari / Witherbloom classes that are thematically related to vines, thorns, poison, decay, alchemy and cooking. Unfortunately, most of it has always been necromancy spell oriented. Your class mods, Dawnstar's spell mods and some feat mods (Alchemy, Chef) are excellent additions to fill this gap. I have a couple of questions:
1. Is this class compatible with https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3/m/dawnstars-grimoire#description?
2. Would love to see your green Firefly Swarmkeeper Aura on this class too?
3. Could you pls make a corresponding Warlock Subclass happen or something similiar to this in the future: https://dnd5e.wikidot.com/background:golgari-agent
Have you checked out my Circle of the Blighted mod? I'd argue that it's the most Golgari thing I've done thus far, but since I love those themes as well I'm always trying to find new inspiration. I do have a Paladin and a Ranger subclass that I'm kind of working on that both have a Golari theme as well—maybe I'll finish them at some point!
As for your questions: 1. I don't believe it is, sadly, since this one has a unique spell list UUID. I'm not entirely sure I can do anything about it unless there's a patch or something that merges them. If I had the names of all the spells I could probably add them to the spell list though! 2. If you haven't seen it already, try standing completely still for a while 👀 3. Warlock patrons are some of the hardest to implement imo, since they're either a) extremely boring or b) not particularly lore-friendly, so I seldom find any interesting ones that are reasonably easy to implement. I haven't found anything Golgari-ish for Warlocks so far sadly.
The Circle of the Blighted is too necro spell-heavy (annoying because of Speak with Dead). I'm more looking for afflictions aka DoTs like bleed and poison + crowd control. At least I did some legwork for you. I have found the console commands for some of them, but unfortunately not for others. Here come some spell names:
I noticed something else. I used the Alchemy feat from Essential Feats. This grants two free Throw actions. One for healing potions and one for grenades / water bottles. For the former, your “Elixir of Recovery” is not recognized and for the latter, your “Elixir of Charm” is not recognized. However, the “Elixir of Witchfire” is recognized. I have not tested the other elixirs.
PS: Oh and I stood still for a while and saw a few moths. I still like your permanent Firefly Swarmkeeper aura a lot better though. After all, the vanilla swarmkeeper has no use for it anymore because of their own auras. Maybe you could leave it to your Hedge Mage or implement it as an option (preferably on mod.io) instead?
By Odin's beard my favourite subclass modder has posted new things! So much excitement! Is the hiatus over, or just some free time?! Are they also available on mod.io? Can't wait to dive into these!
It's fun to work on new stuff when I have time, energy and inspiration, but I'd say it's just some extra free time since keeping up with everything is kind of draining in the end. They're all available on mod.io, like all my post-toolkit mods 😊 Thank you for your support!
Be sure to take some time for yourself to recharge! The quality of your mods are insane, and I know people would be more than happy to wait for new stuff so you can take care of yourself! Absolutely no problem at all. Forever will support you, haha. I always recommend your mods to friends looking for subclasses, haha.
Hey, I really love all your class mods -- thrilled to see this new bunch! I'm still playing on Patch 7. Unfortunately, these new class mods are causing the game to CTD with me, I think because of the missing CrossplayUI and PhotoMode dependencies. Would you consider releasing versions without these Patch 8 dependencies?
It's only compatible with patch 8 I'm afraid, since the new subclass introduced in patch 8 causes a CTD if you're not on patch 8, so it's not a dependency issue per se!
Had a rush of inspiration and free time haha, been waiting to publish these two months past but now it was finally time! Thank you for your neverending support bud :)
Any other mods of yours in this run that have custom spell lists in their progressions, by chance? (And would you mind passing along the mod UUID + spell list UUIDs if you could?)
Phew, thanks for your willingness to share the UUIDs. Need to sit it there beside graviturgy and chronurgy. (And now that I typed that, I realize I should go check if those have higher level spell lists now.)
