How do you stop them playing?
I've tried to reload, played an instrument, played a normal music box, played another song, done a cutscene... I cant figure out how to stop it

Due to it just being an item that calls sounds to be played, it seems like they only stop when they would normally stop within the game, that being either they finish, another song replaces them (which doesnt seem to happen with all of them, only some), or some other event like loading into a new area seems to stop some. Which one was causing issues? I've tried to go through them all while making it but its possible I've missed that one just straight up doesnt end or something, since most of my testing was one in the toolkit itself, which doesnt really involve any saving.

There were a couple songs the pack could toggle, as some had a weird on off switch soundtrack attached to them (so they would only play after the on track was played, and would stop if the off track was played). Unfortunately though that only worked for those 4 or so specific sounds, and I couldn't really find a good way to add those. If people find tracks to be causing issues please let me know and I can disable or add a warning to those music boxes.

      Hey, thanks for answering!
I really appreciate your time <3

It was the intro the intro that kept playing - although I had a mod which replaced it with The Power. Funny, I I've had this mod for months but the first time I sued it was in my Honour mode run just after I defeated Ketheric.
It simply wouldn't stop no matter what I did. Thankfully, I create backup saves in case of emergency, and I think that going back a save because the music was driving me mental was more legitimate than going back because of game over.

I wonder if there is another way to incorporate this mod? like possibly having an invisible unseen servant kind of figure (like from 5e Spells) which cant enter combat, and can pick from music and play it like Bards play music.

That's just spitballing though and is like an entirely different interpretation, but one that is probably more configurable than music boxes.
I did try to uninstall the mod but the game broke, so I had to put it back in. Now I just have a bunch of music boxes I cant use hahaha.
Some of the other ones did loop too, it wasn't just the main theme.

I assume I probably have a mod conflict, but honestly I have so many mods and I already spend so much time mingling round, making them work together. I've learned more of Json's, Python's, Lua's and Pack's than I expected to this year hahaha.

      Thank you again :)
And I hope you are having a wonderful day

Ah, yeah I suppose given the main menu music loops forever on the main menu it might just do it there too. I think an invisible actor would still cause a looping sound, unless I can find a generic sound ending thing, though I have no idea if that exists, or if it did how one would use it. The menu music probably triggers to end switching menu screens / loading into a game, which I guess is why it would never end otherwise. Damn.

I threw a big red warning post on the mod page just in case

my question is: Do they sound like the vanilla music boxes (metallic-like because of the mechanic) or are these the real OST-Songs?

It just plays the sound files within the game. They do not sound like music boxes.
