Made an optional patch for a more balanced game play. Mostly I keep the passives and fun abilities but reduce the dps out put. Also added empty lv13-20 in Progression so Level Curve should work.
The balancing includes:
Base HP reduced from 10 to 8; HP per level reduced from 6 to 5 (same as Rogue)
Heartrender deals 1d4 instead of 1d6 Force dmg
Sneak Attack level map reduced from d8 to d6 (same as Rogue)
Remove Extra Attack to Lv9 (similar to a class with Extra Attack that dips 3 levels in Thief)
Move Aura of Murder to LV11
Lv2 Removed Compulsion (Action Surge) and Command Added Corpse Explosion (Bursting Sinew that also creates Noxious Fumes when explodes) as Lv1 Spell
Lv5 Annihilate costs 1 Dark Urge Point and 1 Action Point
Lv10 Whistling Death costs 2 Dark Urge Points and 1 Action Point
Put the patch after the main file. PS: I don't have Level Curve to testbut the patch should work *fingers crossed*
Install ImpUI Patch8 Slim. Put it at the bottom of your load list (the suggestion in the pinned post is outdated and will cause issues to your mods).
Currently this mod still needs ImpUI so that it can show up in the class selection page in character creation window. Until a tutorial is out, I have no idea how to alter UI window.
Some thing about letting bt1-4 use the Orin Deathbringer attack animation broke Photomode in ways that companions can not use Pose. I re-rig the thing and uploaded a new version (1.0.0.71). Every should be able to pose in Photomode now.
Sorry for the repeated update, and thank you for being patient with me :)
What is the crossplay ui requirement? When installing with bg3mm it states that is a requirement that I don't have. https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/images/30123 Sorry for the poor snipping tool quality. *It's apparently a bg3mm issue! Came here and asked bc this is the only mod I have that requires it with patch 8.
Yup thanks! While I have you here, your comment says to use the impui slim version but when I open my game I get a flag saying it needs 2.1.0.82 which is the cc fixes version. Should I just stick with the slim? https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/images/30126
Regular vanella Durge forces you to kill alfira now reguardless of mods to prevent that even if you kill the dragon bard instead the game will trigger alferias death.
I was concerned this may kill Alfira
. I did a quick and dirty play-test up to killing the spectors (beholder) in the under-dark. So far so good. Alfira was not killed by my tav. I guarantee nothing but so far so good.
I used a mod to level up and some rings to be unstoppable and for alfira to join as a permanent companion.
Basicily I wan't it all, I want to be a blood pervert killing machine and I want to be nice to companions and npcs. Kind of a "light"urge playthru.
Me from the future, Mod seems ok. My TAV (not Durge) hasn't killed anyone in my sleep.
If you have mods leveling your tav past 12. pick a second class before hitting 12.
Is this stand alone from dark urge background? Will it trigger, tag or do anything related to the background or is it strictly a subclass inspired by Durge? Awesome mod. * edit info*
It doesn't change the story trigger, I only added [Cleric of Bhaal] tag which is already in game data for more flavor. It's a class I made to fit a Dark Urge playthrough but it's not a hard requirement.
Really cool looking mod. Any chance this might come to console? I have a campaign with a friend who's playing dark urge and I'm roleplaying my character as their right hand that was attacked with them. These skills are actually exactly the kind of things I had in mind for the character, particularly the dual wielding and combining the thief/assassin passives <3
Hi! Was having a lot of fun playing with this mod and then went into photomode where I discovered I couldn't pose any of the male characters - only default would show up in the menu - and after a lot of testing, I was able to discern that the posing problem came from this mod. I'm not sure why but this mod still isn't playing nice with photomode, at least for bt2.
Hi, I fixed the animation set that did it and photomode works for Astarion and a BT2 Tav in my test. I also put this mod pretty much at the bottom of the load list, above ImpUI. Hope it helps.
Great thematic mod! I do encounter a problem with multiclassing into monk, the basic melee attack disappears if there is no weapon equipped. The normal punch (not with ki points) disappears. I was hoping to do a redeem urge build that would start leveling monk at lvl 5 onwards and throw away his daggers in disgust after alfira/quill. Any way to fix this? It is not hidden in the character sheet/spellbook, it straight up disappears which i think has something to do with the throwing dagger action.
Edit: if people run into the same thing, another mod fixed this problem for me
Hi I figured out what's wrong with it thanks to the official discord forum (Vicious Throw had a spell tag that did it which was not my intention). The new version should fix it.
Hello, i really love your mod it's well done but i have a little problem. When i want to go past the level 13 my screen turn full black but the game is still working. Does your mod have a level cap ?
I didn't let it past the default 12 level, and I'm not sure what I should do to make it compatible to unlock level curve (like making empty lv13-20 blocks in Progression?). If someone knows how, I can see what I can do.
There's another player who can get past to lv13 by multiclassing and let the other default class past the lv12 threshold, which could be a temporary solution.
Hello! One thing I found odd is that this mod along side with other mods that grants Durge abilities similar to Sarevok/Orin somehow disable the pose feature of photomode for all characters in game. Could this be a hard coded issue or a bug?
That's... unexpected. The way existing mods that give the Deathbringer ability to player charcter bt1-4 works something like this: copy and rename the animation sets to the mod, change the animation rig from bt1 to bt2, bt3, and bt4, and assign them to Male/MaleStrong/FemaleStrong animation corresponding list as overwrite.
I guess it somehow prevents the photomode to assert poses on characters, and if that's the case, other mods with animation overwrite should face similar issues.
I'm currently lv2 on a patch8 playthrough and I'll see if I'll get the same bug once I got the Deathbringer skill to better check the issue (it might be difficult to check it in the Toolkit but I'll try once I get my hand on my pc) and see whether it's a more general conflict or something that's specific to the Deathbringer skill.
Also a thought: are you using the latest version where the ImpUI dependency in mod is removed? The info is still a bit all over the places but I've seen people saying that mods with ImpUI dependency and UI mods cause the photomode problem.
I will test the latest one to check, but yes, all the mods I know for now that gives death bringer's assault or alike ability have this problem, even the one that does not use the same spell id but a spell mimicking it. Which includes mods: Sarevok set, Sarevok and Orin skill, Legacy potion
I have tested it and it works! And what's most surprising is that it also fixes the pose issue of other deathbringer mods in female body types and strong male body types, which is truly strange and fascinating at the same time!
Yay!! Thank you for the news. I think Patch8 changed some of the animation sets for default bt1-4 so once I re-do the overwrite, it matches again. I'm not sure but still happy to see it works.
I see I see! Can I ask you to teach me how you fixed it? I feel like I might be able to use it to fix other mods! And I will only keep it to myself in respect of the author's rights if chances are given.
Sure, I didn't make anything "new" so there's no copy right or things like that.
1. Find Orin's Deathbringer Animation in the Toolkit's Resource Manager. Select "All" on the tree on the left panel. Select only the Animation and Animation Set icons to clean up the search result window. There are 3 animations: Antic, Attack, Recover. Right click each one and "create new from" because we need to change them. Use a new name easier for you to search in the future but I strongly suggest keeping most of the naming convention aka all the aberrations. The original HUM_F means human female bt1 so I simply add DU_ and change F into the body types I want to make (M, MS, FS for bt2, 4, and 3 respectively -- all aberrations already used in game).
2. Click the animations you just created. There will be animation preview window, and go to the "Preview Visual Resources" and "Skeleton Resource ID" and change them to the body type base you need as shown in pic. They all use similar naming so shouldn't be difficult to find the correct once.
3. Go back to find the Animation Sets for default body types: HUM_M_Base, HUM_MS_Base, and HUM_FS_Base, right click and "Overwrite in current mode" because we only want to add our animations from step 2 to be used in default body types. Once you make an overwrite, double click the Animation Set, wait for a while, and it will open another window. Search for Orin_Deathbringer and you should see the 3 animation actions under the Creature tab as shown in the pic. Assign the corresponding animation you made from step 2 to them and that's how I made it works.
When I checked the broken version, I think the Animation sets were broken, so I simply deleted the overwrite and made a new one. I think Photomode takes animation data from the default body type animation sets so if they are broken, you can't use Pose. To be honest, I have no idea if that's actually the case, but I guess still worthy of a try.
So I followed the steps and tried a bit using the toolkit, turns out the animation was in fact the problem and was fixed, but once I deleted the previous broken animation set, the armor itself seems to no longer exist in game, which is very odd, I wonder could it be some other coding issues, but anyway, thanks for all the helps.
iirc that mod author use their own naming for their altered orin/sarevok skills (much like in my step 1) and they made it before toolkit, so importing it might cause data loss (damn you Shar). But making your own item with the orin/sarevok skills should be easy, since the most tricky part is the animation rigging part.
lol I love this mod. Just need to nerf it a bit. Durge should be OP I agree, but this is technically broken :)) I bet I can solo at least Tactician, single save with it.
Just wanted to let you know that the new version of the mod won't let me save it in my BG3 MM load order. It is showing a blank dependency spot highlighted in red. (Version 1.0.0.61)
Thank you for the bug report. I realized I didn't save the file correctly so it didn't actually remove the mod dependency. Hope the new updated file works.
Edit: Turns out class mods still need ImpUI for them to show up in the selection window. I'll keep the current verstion of file since I know it's annoying to have to constantly upgrade because of my clueless. Everything else should work the same. And sorry for the confusion.
