This mod adds a new Samurai class with 3 subclasses inspired by Final Fantasy X and XIV. It includes new katanas, icons, and skills for the related classes.

Alright details. So, a year or so ago I downloaded FF XIV Samurai class mod from Kanmuuru. Unfortunately, they haven't updated the mod to current patches in a long while, so I wanted to try updating it myself, but somewhere along the way I got creative and ended up making my own mod instead. The mods have some similarities but they're not the same.

Let's start at the beginning.

The mod introduces my Samurai class (Inspired by Final Fantasy X and XIV), and progression is as follows.

Level 1
Samurai learns class skills Hakaze and Shinten.
Hakaze: Melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon. Gain Kenki status.
Shinten: Melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status.
Samurai obtains the passives Dancer and Iaijutsu.
Dancer: While not wearing armor or shield AC becomes 13 + Dexterity Modifier, and movement speed increases by 3 meters. 
Iaijutsu: While using a versatile finesse weapon reduces the number needed to score a critical hit by 1 and can't be disarmed.


Level 2
Samurai learns class skill Enpi.
Enpi: Mid-range attack, damage is derived from a level map and Wisdom Modifier.
Samurai obtains the passives Tengetsu and Third Eye.
Tengetsu: Reaction melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon, Dexterity Modifier, and Wisdom Modifier.
Third Eye: Reduce Slashing, Bludgeoning, and Piercing damage using dice derived from a level map.



Level 3
Samurai chooses an Aeon Subclass and replaces class skills learned in levels 1-2 with class skills derived from the Aeon they chose.

Yojimbo: Focus on slashing melee attacks.
Gyofu: Slashing melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon. Gain Kenki status.
Gekko: Slashing melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Sen status. Gain Fusen buff.
Higanbana: Slashing melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Slashing Vulnerability. Needs Sen status to work. Removes Sen status.
Enhanced-Enpi:  Slashing mid-range attack, damage is derived from a level map and Wisdom Modifier. Gain Hissatsu status. 
Gyoten: Teleporting slashing melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Needs Hissatsu status to work. Removes Hissatsu status.
Summon Masamune: Summons the slashing katana, Masamune. Goes away after long rest. Grows stronger with Samurai levels.

Shiva: Focuses on teleporting and mid-range cold attacks.
Fuko: Teleporting cold melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon. Gain Kenki status.
Yukikaze: Teleporting cold melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Crystal status. Gain Crystal Walker buff.
Heavenly Ice: Teleporting cold AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Cold Vulnerability. Needs Crystal status to work. Removes Crystal status.
Senei: Cold mid-range attack, damage is derived from your weapon. Gain Kenki status.
Summon Muramasa: Summons the cold katana, Muramasa. Goes away after long rest. Grows stronger with Samurai levels.

Ramuh: Focuses on mid-range lightning attacks.
Shifu: Lightning mid-range attack, damage is derived from your weapon. Gain Kenki status.
Fuga: Lightning mid-range attack, damage is derived from a level map and Wisdom Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Thunder status. Gain Storm Eye buff.
Tempest:  Lightning mid-range AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Lightning Vulnerability. Needs Thunder status to work. Removes Thunder status.
Guren: Lightning melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Gain Hissatsu status.
Yaten: Teleport. Needs Hissatsu status to work.
Summon Kotetsu: Summons the lightning katana, Kotetsu. Goes away after long rest. Grows stronger with Samurai levels.

Samurai obtains passives Charismatic Wisdom and Iaido.
Charismatic Wisdom: Can use your Wisdom Modifier in Charisma ability checks.
Iaido: Increase Initiative by 3 and become immune to surprise.





Level 4
Samurai chooses Ability Improvement or Feat

Level 5
Samurai learns class skills based on the Aeon they chose.

Yojimbo:
Kasha: Slashing melee attack, damage is derived from a level map and Dexterity Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Ka status. Gain Fuka buff.
Tenka Goken: Slashing cone AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Stunned. Needs Ka status to work. Removes Ka status.

Shiva:
Hyosetsu: Cold mid-range attack, damage is derived from a level map and Wisdom Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Umbral status. Gain Crystal Mind buff.
Crystal Dream:  Cold mid-range AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Prone. Needs Umbral status to work. Removes Umbral status.

Ramuh:
Ikishoten: Lightning mid-range attack, damage is derived from a level map and Wisdom Modifier. Needs Kenki status to work. Removes Kenki status. Gain Astral status. Gain Mirage buff.
Aerospark:  Lightning line AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Applies Blind. Needs Astral status to work. Removes Astral status.

Samurai obtain 1 Extra Attack, Bonus Action, and Reaction. 


Level 6
Samurai chooses Ability Improvement or Feat.


Level 7
Samurai learns the Ultimate Skill of their chosen Aeon.

Yojimbo:
Midare Setsugekka: Teleporting slashing melee attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Needs Sen and Ka status to work. Removes Sen and Ka status.
Kaeshi Setsugekka: Teleporting slashing melee attack, damage is derived from a level map. Needs Tsubame-Gaeshi status to work. Removes Tsubame-Gaeshi status.


Shiva:
Diamond Dust: Teleporting cold AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Needs Crystal and Umbral status to work. Removes Crystal and Umbral status.

Ramuh:
Judgement Bolt: Lightning mid-range AOE attack, damage is derived from your weapon and a level map. Needs Thunder and Astral status to work. Removes Thunder and Astral status.

Samurai improves Dancer to Maelstrom Dancer.
Maelstrom Dancer: While not wearing armor or shield AC becomes 13 + Dexterity Modifier, and movement speed increases by 6 meters. 


Level 8
Samurai chooses Ability Improvement or Feat.


Level 9
Samurai obtain passive Tengetsu II.
Tengetsu II: Revives a Samurai to 1 hp after getting Downed once per Long Rest.


Level 10
Samurai chooses Ability Improvement or Feat.


Level 11
Samurai learns the best, most sacred ability all Samurai from Final Fantasy XIV have unjustly lost.
Kaiten: Guarantees 1 attack hits target and is always critical. Once per Short Rest.


Level 12
Samurai chooses Ability Improvement or Feat.

After Level 12 Samurai choose another Ability Increase or Feat every even level.

Buffs
Yojimbo:
Fusen: Advantage on attack rolls.
Fuka: Reduce the number needed for critical hit by 1.
Shiva:
Crystal Walker: Immune to slipping on ice, difficult terrain doesn't slow you down, 1.5 movement speed boost.
Crystal Mind: Should make you immune to most mental ailments.
Ramuh:
Storm Eye: Immune to blind. Gain Blindsight and See Invisibility.
Mirage: AC +2

Katanas Stats
Katana statsper Samurai Level (I mean that literally the stats of the katanas are tied to Samurai Level not Character Level so levels you get from multi-classing do not count towards getting the better katanas.)

Level 3-4 Weapon Enchantment 2

Level 5-8 Weapon Enchantment 3, AC + 1

Level 9-11 Weapon Enhancement 4, AC + 1, Ability + 2 Dexterity or Wisdom (Kotetsu gets the Wisdom first), additional d4 dice (total of 3d4)

Level 12 Weapon Enchantment 5, AC + 1, Ability + 2 Dexterity, Ability + 2 Wisdom, (total of 3d4)

Level 13-16 Weapon Enchantment 5, AC + 1, Ability + 2 Dexterity, Ability + 2 Wisdom, additional d4 dice (total of 4d4)

Level 17+ Weapon Enchantment 5, AC + 1, Ability + 2 Dexterity, Ability + 2 Wisdom, additional d4 dice (total of 5d4)



Limits
Limitations of the class.

Skills will not work if you don't have Melee, Versatile, Finesse weapon equipped.
Dancer passives will not work if you equip a Shield or Armor.
AOE attacks should at most only target 3 enemies.

Proficiencies
Samurai provides proficiencies with Longswords, Musical Instruments, Dexterity and Wisdom Saving Throws.
Musical Proficiencies are only there for my entertainment.

The mod shouldn't have many incompatibility issues because all it does is create stuff from what's already in the game, unless your mods heavily change vanilla stuff in the game. Possible incompatibilities may arise from UUID clashes as well. I imagine if you still have Kanmuruu's mod for whatever reason it will also be incompatible.

I eventually plan on adding models for Samurai clothes, the katanas, and some instrument music from FFX and FFXIV.
Will also be translating the mod into Spanish, and Mandarin eventually. (Mandarin with DeepSeek)
