Are you all still getting Wyll's surprise dance scene in Patch 7? I've never managed to trigger it myself without flirting with him at the party first.
Edit: And is this without mods? Wyll has a not-dating-yet version of his Act 2 dance scene that triggers based on approval, but it hasn't ever happened for me (along with starting Karlach's romance outside the tiefling party) in patch 7. Though I've heard that some romance mods enable this
For a long time, i kept trying to only romance Gale or Astarion. At the tiefling party i tried everything, from chatting to being outright rude to Wyll. I could swear i once even ignored him completely at the tiefling party. But he still wanted to dance. :D
Only last time, he left me alone. Maybe because i played with the "Better Romance" Mod from Mod HQ, but it still seemed like the game thought i was romancing Gale and Shadowheart. In any case, Wyll did not ask for a dance for once. I heard he only asks, if you're -not- romancing two people already.
I feel it's easier to romance Wyll by accident than Gale. Maybe one could also make a mod, that allows us to talk nicely to Wyll at the tiefling party, without making him want to dance?
For me the only Mod I use related to this is No Romance limit. I didn't even know I was flirting with him at the party till I saw this comment section lol, bro looked dejected, and I take care of my mates.
Would you add dialogue choice to all characters that is a clear point of starting dating? It seems whenever Im courteous to anyone, they assume we are lovers.
IMO most companions have a very clear point of dating already. Many companions will shoot their shot once you meet their romance requirements, but (except for the Tara conversation with Gale), the player has to make a pretty obvious choice to show interest:
Astarion: Agree to sleep with him, then spend the night together
Gale: Picture something romantic during his weave scene OR flirt during the Tara conversation (including some of the "sneaky" options this mod tries to address)
Karlach: Spend the night with her in Act 1 (where she tells you she wants to ride you until you see stars)
Lae'zel: Agree to spend the night with her
Shadowheart: Agree to spend the night together and follow through
Wyll: Flirt with him at the tiefling party (by trying to dance, trying to kiss him, etc). When he puts his arm around you and closes the conversation with "there will be another time for us", you're dating
Thanks for the explanation. So you are certain the only way they start trying to romance is by choosing 1 of these romance optionsl otherwise we remain platonic for the whole game?
Ok, accidentially dating that can happen, But accidentially sleeping with him, that is new. That happens only in act 2 first. At the tiefling party, you actually don't sleep with him, ou can only choose to dream/fantasize about him.
In the act 2 scene, there are 2 options and in both you can still say no when he tells you he's in love with you. In doubt, you can always relaod.
If you want to be sure to not date Gale, you just have to be adamantine at the Tiefling Party and tell him you're not interested. If i did that, i always had himn saying "You will hear no more fromn me" or something and that did the trik for me.
Wait. How are people clicking "do you like having your belly rubbed?" and not realizing this is flirting?! All the options shown that put you and Gale in a relationship are so obvious, and I'm autistic! I'm genuinely surprised at this! I thought the lines were going to be super unclear, but it's all pretty explicit. Well, damn! Feeling a lot more confident about my ability to read social cues. Thanks! Hah, I've also never had this problem, but I heard that a lot of the times it's druid players who get to this point because they want Tara to like them. They then pick the belly rubs option to try to stay platonic without having to choose "I hate cats >:( "
I never even clicked the Belly rub option and managed to flirt with him, The animal companion linbe, that flags you so safely as Dating Gale. I did that and ended up getting a ove confession in act 2, but not that i didn't want to date himn anyway... :D
Does this mod make it so if you choose the dating options you get the confession dialogue you would have if the tara convo came up before the tiefling party? I always loved the "Oh we see eachother in the same resplendent light??" response then "Okay Ive had too much to drink lets talk later" but Its hard to get it to come up before the party, and as far as Ive seen if you dont get it by the party you cant get it after
Not at the moment! This mod doesn't change any of the logic behind that line, so the same requirements apply: you'll only see it if you have the Tara conversation afterthe tiefling party:

(I do usually end up getting the magic lesson scene before the Tiefling party, which is much clearer in the ways to end it platonically, but it's a relief to have a clearer version for the party, too—well done, and thank you again!!!)
Gale's scenes are so problematic. First, Gale, I just want to learn some magic, stop looking at me in a creepy way, I am just being friendly. Then, why is my character sitting so close to Gale? Why, I am just talking to a friend. I wish someone would modify Gale's scenes because they are frankly annoying and somewhat disturbing if you are just trying to be friends with him.
I must be one of the only people who's never had issues with accidentally starting a romance with Gale. Regardless, I'll be downloading this as it's a nice little edit! Thank you for the work you do.
I did have a wondering; I've seen edit the Astarion confession scene so that it includes the best aspects of both versions of it...I started thinking about other dialogues you can get with him only under certain circumstances. I'm thinking about taking a crack at this myself, but I never get the dialogue with Astarion about the 'darling boy' he couldn't bring himself to bring to Cazador because I prefer to take other dialogue options with him that don't lead to that...I would like to hear that and to also choose the other options with him too. How hard is it to edit dialogue trees?
