If I load this after Impactful Backgrounds by Lumaterian, will this mod just overwrite the haunted one background from their mod? Or would a patch be needed? Sick idea for a mod btw, would really like to use this one
This is really interesting. Does the hostile state put the player under AI control like confusion, or does it just mark everyone as hostile to interfere with things like sculpt spells?
It's mostly like a Madness effect, so everything will be hostile. Confusion would be another option but as it sometimes skips turns, I wanted to represent the need to harm.
I'm sure it will get plenty of attention on its own (it's a neat mod idea), but I've included it as an option in the latest update to Listonomicon. Hopefully that will help generate a lot of feedback and testing in a big mod list.
I like the idea of the Dark Urge actually being a compulsion. Not just an edgy OC but something that you benefit and suffer from over the course of your adventure. A lot of players don't seem to like Durge being Durge and complain when things like the random travel dialogue trigger that it's immersion breaking because "their character would never say 'build my castle with bones!'" -- but it's a supernatural compulsion, not your own character's thoughts and ideas. Redeemed Dark Urge enjoyers should cherish mods that actually make their redemption arc feel like a fight against Bhaal.
Idk getting off my soap box. Cool mod, I look forward to what you accomplish in the future.
I agree with your point, while the character might try to do good, the Dark Urge is a somewhat divine force compelling them, making it difficult to control. The developers definitely seem to have designed this origin with the embrace of the urge somewhat in mind, as resisting it doesn't offer many benefits, and it even feels like a disadvantage. You can also see it for those that do a no-tadpole run, the only real "benefits" for not using them, are some minimal dialogue options.

Safe to uninstall?
