After reviewing the code, I found that the changes were not being applied correctly to the AI, but they were working for the player. I'm not sure if your issue came from seeing NPCs "Helping" each other, an NPC "Helping" one of your characters, or one of your characters "Helping" an AI. In any case, this should now be fixed with the new version 2a.
This mod does not return your own Action Point when using the "Help" action. Instead, it returns the Action Point to the ally you are "Helping" because, by default, the ally would get up from the ground without an Action Point. From what I see in the code, everything looks correct.
Could you specify which Action Point is not being returned? Are you referring to your own or the one of the "Helped" ally?
This mod has a lot of work behind it, not just the programming itself, but all the hours spent doing mathematical calculations so that everything makes sense and is balanced
Base game (and 5e) balance has a bonus action and a spell slot restore 1d4 hp. How's this remotely balanced with that?
I copied the text template from another of my mods (Kombat Overhaul, a mod that changes practically 100% of the game's Spells/Commands), that's why that comment appeared. I didn't realize it, but I've already changed it.
Thanks for pointing it out, because yes, it did sound pretty stupid XD.
