Fixes on latest:
Assets using models despawn faster now: pumpkins, tentacles, flowers
Petals and Leaves are reactivated - these are no longer broken.
Reorganized spell hot bar. Readjusted some icons.
Removed concentration from Pretty Filth; you can now apply character fx interchangeably without breaking concentration with PP fx.
Removed sfx from tentacles.
Caveats/Known Issues:
You must use 1 item in your scene to attach the spell to.
Spells are not in custom race hotbar, only works with vanilla races.
If you don't see VFX spawning, please check your load order! It must be near top
Sweat full-body works on companions/origins, not custom bodies if using unique-tav, this is due to missing dependencies the character fx rely on. Can use Kaz Virtual Tav mod instead.
WISPS, Tentacles, Fireworks Gold and Waterfall Circle, work best when attached to 1 item.
Some items do not work; this is still known. I know the cause, just need to figure out a fix/work around.
============================================================= PLEASE DOWNLOAD LATEST FILE. IT SHOULD WORK NOW. I had changed some folder names and the scripts didn't like that. I reverted it. My friend @Dancunin (twitter & bsky) helped me test it, she makes beautiful VPs and also was one of the people that inspired me to make this mod in the first place.
============================================================= No longer an issue, but leaving this here just in case. Thank you all for your patience.
Some are experiencing the mod not working, I downloaded the pak and it is working on my end. If you are seeing the spells being concentrated and you can cast it, but no vfx are present, it means it's not in your load order correctly. If you have a screen shot of other mods being used in conjunction with this one, please share so we can find the discrepancy.
If you are using the in-game mod manager, it's possible that it is forcing the mod to be in the wrong load order - you'll have to uncheck almost all the mods, and toggle them back on one-by-one and make sure Pretty Particles is one of the first few toggled on to fix the load order, or use BG3MM by saving your load order and exporting back into the game before you launch the app.
This is my load order when I use mods with Pretty Particles and it works:
Trips_Shader
ImpUI
CommunityLibrary
CombatibilityFramework
Pretty Particles
It also works standalone.

PS: I love seeing everyone's photos/media!! You're all very talented and creating gorgeous work! Love it!
I have it working but… it works!!! Any vanilla race can make anyone look sweaty. But 2 things 1) if bloody/dirty/sweating once an activity initiated by the BG3SX mod they lose sweat until that spell ends. Interestingly characters dancing because of Lewd Idle and walking animations are sweaty/dirty/bloody while dancing. So far it’s just BG3SX that interrupts the best reason to sweat. Pretty Particles is up top like you suggested. 2) it’s a concentration spell. Is there a way to make it something where the same vanilla race can cast effects on multiple parties without losing concentration? Also I’d like them to remain sweaty while fighting, dancing, hopefully BG3SXing. So needing concentration in battle is a pain. Is this possible. I know it’s beyond the scope of making great scenes but, it’s quite a breakthrough if a sweat mod can overcome other conflicts and allow sweat/blood/dirt while andventuring. And thank you. This is fun
Edit:playing around.... yeah, being able to have bubbles AND another effect will be wonderful. It's the concentration bit that prevents it. I'm sure a long duration would work. I don't know of a cancel spell.
1) I'll have to play around with that mod and see if I can find a solution for the persistence. It may be that mod is overriding some parameters I have set for those spells.
2) So for the character filth - it's misleading; you see concentration for it, but it should not affect gameplay or remove the blood/sweat/dirt - that is done using the clean spell. For the VFX aspect (not character fx), this is a limitation due to how Larian's tools and scripts work, esp having vfx persist for cines. It's on my bug list to get more than 1 concentration to work per character so the spells don't get cancelled out by each other. For the character fx (sweat/blood/dirt), I'll be removing the concentration part of the UI so it's not confusing - it's not needed and doesn't affect anything (but, you do have to cast that first before you cast other concentration spells). I haven't gotten around to it yet, but that is on my bug list. You can follow my trello board to see what's cookin for this mod: Pretty Particles Trello
To cancel a spell you press x on the concentration icon near the pfp on the hotbar (idk if I misread your last note).
For BG3SX - yea. But I don't know if I'd focus there until the next update (soon)
I'm definitely seein the effects go away with haveing gale try to hit character after character with sweat or blood sweat dirt (to make detection easier =on my eye) - i'll play more this weekend and read your site. great work
Thank you - it's possible that the combat parameters (sweat, dirt, blood) are overriding the parameters of the mod - I'll have to test this on my end and find a fix.
This looks really exciting. So many mods have conflicted over sweat and sweat layers in the models. If you search mods for sweaty there are only 3 and they all have issues that may relate to the game itself, or virtual tav, or or or. I’ve not been able to get characters sweaty in a while. Could this mod somehow fix that? If you’re interested, the folks over at Lunemods discord (link in the BG3SX addon page could probably give you a better idea of what’s going on. :-) no pressure. Always looking to recruit for this effort. I appreciate your sharing.
Hi, I'll have to look more into this locally. This works perfectly for vanilla races, however, this mod wouldn't fix the sweat issue for unique tav since that is dependent on whether models have a sweat mask scripted into the custom bodies/utav lsf files. If no sweat is being called in the scripts per race the sweat won't work. I'll join the discord to see what everyone else discussing. But, that is my suspicious at least. It does however work for heads. Hopefully we'll come up with a solution for this!
It could even be the material custom races use isn't using the correct sweat parameters or naming convention. I'll have to do more testing/digging to really figure out what's going on.
Yea no worries, it's been a known issue. I managed to figure out that it may have to do with unique-tav mod - I'm still not certain what the discrepancy is. Trips Shader is safe, that one works fine with full-body sweat. If you play without unique-tav/vanilla you'll get full-body sweat. Companions/Origins are not affected, so they are safe. I'm still investigating a fix locally for this.
Thanks I have switched to ktav. Im using ktav with sweat enabled. I need to dump my mods and start clean, I think. So many mods. So little self control… a problem for my next run.
Hi! I appreciate the work that went into this. Like some of the other commenters the "Pretty Particles" container isn't showing the VFX when cast (regardless of how you rotate the item), but is showing the status applied to the object when hovering over. Tried with multiple objects, VFX, and locations. "Pretty Fith" appears to work as intended. I have it at the top of my load order as detailed in the instructions. Looking forward to future iterations of this mod!
I try to fix that VFX doesn't showing the - I made a new game only with this mod and it doesn't work. When I use other mods, this mod is at the top of my list (Load order – Dysk Google)and it also doesn't work. But the patreon version work fine (from the December 13th). Could it be because I have the game in a language version other than English? Because I have no other ideas why it doesn't work.
Appreciate you and sorry for the inconvenience! What language do you play in? I play in English, so I haven't tested in other languages - but if the other version is working for you language shouldn't be an issue if I had to guess. I'm just baffled why this pak is working on my end and not yours. I'll double check the scripts.
Thanks Cat for checking <3 I have no idea what the discrepancy could be, unfortunately. I've checked the scripts and everything is in order and it does work on my machine locally. I'm on Windows, use BG3MM (or direct mods folder depending), and ScriptExtender as well. Pak was made with BG3 Toolkit + some external scripting. When I have time I'll try to find a fix for it, but for right now am at a loss as to why it isn't working for some folks.
