Multiclass characters never get to the level 13-16 progression nodes. For example an 8 fighter, 8 barbarian would use progression nodes 1-8 for each class. The addon is a dummy class that only has 4 levels and grants a feat per level. So if you want a multiclassing character to unlock a feat per level at levels 13+, you can multiclass into the dummy class at level 13.
Go ahead, they're all yours! Oh and FYI, I also found out that since the dummy class is feat-progression only, it doesn't work right for the Nerfed version. I already fixed it on my end but you could add a Nerfed-specific dummy class for the feat/expertise build.
Thank you so much for making such magnificant mod, which is just perfect for players like me who don't want to waste the XP neither ruin the game experience in final stage. I used this mod in my level-11's save load and I made the characters multi-class and not to level up to 12 in sole class till the XP increased to full level 16, since I was afraid that it might result in crash if I leveled up to 12 before MAX LVL 16 (some other mods such as LVL 20 MULTICLASS MOD can allow single class to take the 12-level last otherwise the potential to exceed level up to 13 may cause crash). Now I want to ask if this mod allows single class to level up to 13 or at least stay up to 12 before the maximum XP and LEVEL? I still have some save loads with 12-level's class and I dare not risk opening them now...
I haven't noticed any crashes associated with this mod. I have a test save where all the characters are level 12 and haven't had any issues loading it and then adding extra experience to the characters to level them to 13+. I'm not really sure what issue you're trying to avoid to be honest.
Nothing in particular, at least right now. It was more a hypothetical for future reference. I'm interested in the Alternate Monk by Loz once it updates (which they promised it would), but I don't know how it would play with this mod.
In any case, the version of this mod with the "dummy class" should work fine as long as I don't take a class without higher progression all the way to 12, right? My understanding is that you encounter some kind of glitch if you try to level up when your current class is already level 12, though I haven't tried it yet.
I'm not sure I understand the question, so you might need to clarify if I'm not answering it properly.
If you try to level to 13 on a class that does not have a level 13 progression node, you will get a black screen, but you can hit escape to cancel the level up.
You should be able to multiclass into the dummy class at level 13 on any character to get the feat per level progression from levels 13-16. That would be another work around to use custom classes that do not have level 13+ progression nodes. (Technically there is nothing preventing you from selecting the dummy class at any level.)
I noticed while playing with this mod, when I pass level 12 the vendors suddenly have 0 gold. They are fine without the mod and before reaching level 13.
Okay, I see. Since multiclassing uses the lower level progression entries they still have all of their typical benefits at levels 13+. There isn't an easy solution to that issue that I can think of, but I'll see if there is some scripting solution or some other work around.
As far as I can tell, there also isn't a scripting solution for this issue either. The only wonky work around I've come up with is creating a custom class, that has no progression other than feats every level, so people who are multiclassing can select that class at levels 13+.
I have a question/request: is it at all possible to implement including the "Change Spells" feature? I don't feel like respeccing completely just to change out a few spells. (tho i can, of course! mostly i was just wondering if it was a possibility, im curious about how this all works!)
I'm having a bit of trouble where, upon reaching Level 13, I can only see a black screen and therefore can't choose any level-up options. The scaling and XP gain is working perfectly fine, but I just visually can't see anything! Though, I can still back out perfectly fine. I assume because there have been no other comments that this could be a potential mod conflict on my side, but wanted to ask in case you had any suggestions as this is definitely the kind of LVL up mod that appeals to me. Thanks so much for reading, and making this mod!
That typically happens if there is no level 13 progression entry for the class you are playing. Which class are you playing? Also, which version of my mod are you using?
Edit: Also, have you tried leveling with all the characters in your party? (to see if the issue is just with one class or with every class)
I'm having the same issue, using the main mod file. (I also have a lot of mods...) Problem Children
Shadowheart, Level 12 Cleric (life domain)
Gale, Level 12 Wizard (evocation)
I'm not sure what the problem is with them specifically - I don't have any mods specific to those classes? I guess... I do have Gale's Netherese Magic installed, which adds to his arcane hunger issues, and I have an extra cantrip added to Shadowheart, but i don't think those should conflict?
I did install it partway thru an active playthrough, and I think everyone was already at level 11 or 12 when I installed it.
Can you try putting my mod lower in your load order?
Also, are you using any mods that add additional feats at certain level intervals? Or any other mod that might be adding something to characters based on their level?
LOL, this is actually completely my fault. I didn't include wizards or clerics in my mod. I remember thinking "Yep, I added all 10 classes." There are actually 12 classes.... I'll have a fix uploaded shortly.
I love the idea of the mod! I always been reluctant with the other level cap removal mods because of the power of the later levels, but I also dislike having EXP just go to waste. I will certainly try it out!
A question though, is this compatible with feat mods? Like, mods that add or modify feats. I figure it should be but you never know.
Yeah, it's compatible with essential feats, rebalance feats and and feats extra. Should be compatible with mostly anything that doesn't modify experience or add additional level 13+ content to classes.

Edit: Wait, I replied in the wrong comment tread, lol. Well it was directed to you anyway!
