I have a bit of an odd problem -- I followed the tutorial, used the blank template to do a bundle of make up & tattoos, put in generated file as per the tutorial, load order is this mod under unique tav but above eyes of beholder

but it's not working but in an odd way, its working for modded heads that have been patched for but its not working for vanilla heads -- No clue what I did incorrectly

Okay, so I've done some testing and poking around with load orders, all that jazz! (I have like 500 mods installed -- took a wee while 😬)

Here is what I found (in my case at least)

Having the load order as below did not work for me, I kept getting two sets of the same vanilla make up on vanilla heads but the mod would work on modded heads. (Why? I still can't figure that out)

      TOP
      Unique Tav
More Makeup and Tattoos - Unique Tav and EOTB
      More Makeup and Tattoos Icons

      EotB Main - EyesOfTheBeholder
      EotB Extra - ExtraEyeColours
      EotB Eye Preset - GlowEyes
      unique_tav_EotB_patch
      BOTTOM

      BUT

When I put this mod at the absolute bottom of the load order -- it suddenly started to work (glowing eyes stopped working tho). So I started to slowly move it up the load order to see what may have been causing my issue.

Eventually I end up with a load order that looks like the below

      TOP
      Unique Tav
      EotB Main - EyesOfTheBeholder
      EotB Extra - ExtraEyeColours
      EotB Eye Preset - GlowEyes
More Makeup and Tattoos - Unique Tav and EOTB
      More Makeup and Tattoos Icons

      unique_tav_EotB_patch
      BOTTOM

In my case, it looks like the EotB glowing eyes and this mod aren't cooperating (?) with each other -- So I just don't have glowing eyes for any characters at the moment (This doesn't effect tiefling/dragonborne eyes) but i'm not too bothered by it, I can happily play without glowing eyes until something gets patched.

      Hope this helps someone!

Discovered today that the modded head glowy eyes still work -- The heads that have been patched for but vanilla heads still no glow

I was having the same conflict, thanks for figuring this out and sharing!!  EDIT: Turns out, my issue wasn't a conflict at all but was instead a misnamed folder! The generated folder that was supposed to be named MakeupAndTattoos had instead been named MakeupTattoosScars, which works for the respective mod but not for this one. Once I changed the name back, I was able to run it with the suggested load order in the description c:

Hey, great mod. I'm experiencing an issue trying to use tattoos and makeups other than the ones that come by default.

I followed your tutorial as best I could, but I find that when I load up the game, the vanilla makeups/tattoos are replaced, and the additional makeup and tattoo slots are blank. I checked my file path, and it seems to be in order, so I can't tell what it is I have done wrong.

The mod I am taking files from is cosmetic pack by mari, if that makes any difference.

Nevermind, I figured out what I had done wrong.
    1. Could you maybe share with the class what you did wrong and how you fixed it please?

Hey! This used to work on my head from "Vemperen's Other Heads Repaired". Any plans to add support for these heads? Thank you very much for all your hard work!

edit #1: i see it in the supported mods list but I just downloaded the 1.50 update and it did not fix the issue. This mod works for the vanilla heads but not the new ones. Will update again soon after I mess with it a bit.

edit #2: not sure what fixed it but I just updated all my mods and it worked. Please ignore :)

hii! any chance you'd consider making this compatible with Dark Urges - Male T2 and T4 Head Presets? i'm sure you have so many requests already but--

I've noticed that this mod is reducing the quality of my tattoos :(
I think it's because each tattoo in MMaT has a resolution of 1024x1024, while in the original tattoos can have a resolution of 2048x2048. Very unfortunate, because a lot of fine detail is just lost that way. Am I right to understand that it is not possible to increase the tattoo resolution to 2048x2048 using this mod?

Did you add more tattoos or are you just using the defaults provided by this mod? Because in the tutorial that they include for adding your own with the template, it states to size any added tattoos to 4096x4096.

That's right, when using MMaT, the additional tattoos require a resolution of 4096x4096. So it's still the same 1024x1024 per tattoo.
The vanilla DDS file also has a resolution of 4096x4096, but there is an option to increase its resolution to 8192x8192, so each tattoo ends up with a resolution of 2048x2048, and thus becomes twice as detailed in-game.
However, this doesn't work with MMaT, whose horizontal resolution is only 4096. MMaT's DDS file has a resolution of 4096x8192, right? Question is: can this value be increased to 8192x16384 to improve the quality, or is that not possible? Some of my tattoos need a high resolution :(
Anyway, your mod is awesome! I have been using it for a long time, and the extra slots have been very-very useful. Thank you so much! <3

I just updated to the recent mod and somehow the current one had disabled my custom EOTB eye presets. I have followed the load order as instructed (here's a screenshot of mine):

I have tried both the custom eyes from EOTB and from posielibre and it just stopped working. Worse even when I removed the mod completed from the mods folder, none of my eye presets (I tested several) worked.

This is an issue I found in the 3.0.0.0 version, once I rerolled back to 2.2.0.0 my eye presets came back. So just a head's up if anyone ran into this bug as I did.

what heads are you trying to use them on? do you have the EOTB version of those heads installed?

Yes, I am using Faces of Faerun, iirc they did have it patched to work with the current EOTB. I can get it to work but only in the older version as previously stated, not the recent one, so I am not sure if it's because the prev files were overrides and it managed to brute force EOTB to work for it. I have rerolled back so it works for me now, so I am not sure why 3.0.0.0 doesn't work for me.

the previous version had me coding in Eye of the Beholder compatibility for ALL heads, including heads that normally do not. however, maintaining all the different versions was a lot of extra work and it wasn’t sustainable.

That's very fair, at least the prev version worked so I am quite happy with that. Thanks for the mod and for you responding. :)

Hello! I wonder if you could look into making this compatible with Ren's head's they aren't available on nexus anymore but they're free on their other site that shall not be named, in a mass post. It would be the vanilla idol ren heads.

I love this mod, I spent so long messing with the DDS files, it was great fun. Thank you for making it.

I downloaded today's update (03/03/25) and it stopped part of Myky's Tintable Piercings from working properly. For reference it was the Unique Tav version.
I went back to using the previous version and everything was working fine.
Just thought I'd comment unless anyone else runs into that problem.

    --

I'm also having an issue with UTAV and the Empty Atlas.
I've modified the DDS files and they work as they should in character creation, and they appear in game on my Tavs/Durges perfectly.
The issue is that they are acting as replacers so they're appearing on NPCs in game. I have the mod loaded under UTAV and under all the patches for my head mods.
If it just works like that, that's cool, I love being able to mix and match the tattoos and make up options like this :)

So if anyone's running into the problem I was having with Myky's tintable piercings that I mentioned above, the graphical glitch were part of the earrings appear black is still happening with the current patch but I managed to fix it by messing with my load order.

I put the piercings under UTav, MMandT and the Utav patch for MMandT. It seems a bit counterintuitive because that isn't usually where you would put piercing in the load order (I don't think) but it works fine :)
