the images suggest you use an action to activate. RAW you choose to use it when making an attack, no additional action required. can you confirm if it's an interrupt?
You are right. It seems I missed that change. I'll change the cost with an update, but instead of making it an interrupt which adds a lot of unnecessary complications (BG3 Interrupts are very annoying to make) I'll go for a more quality-of-life version that is more comfortable for a video-game: I'll just keep it as is but remove the Action Cost (it will only cost Channel Oath and you can use it whenever you want). Adding an interrupt for every time you want to attack is annoying and 99% of the time it is also unnecessary.
I just uploaded the 1.1 update of the mod. This adds the cost change I mentioned in relation to your comment. The screenshots have also been updated to reflect this change.
I agree with your sentiment, i like playing Warlock/Paladins, having Smites and Reaction spells, and refresh the slots from short rests and bards.
And man, the Interrupt/popup spam sometimes just makes it not worth playing it despite being fun to play otherwise lol
So anything that doesnt really need to be an interrupt, shouldnt be since it doesnt really translate into the game compared to tabletop (since there you choose to jump in, rather than being forced to jump in, and then leave)
