I really wanted to add this mod, I followed all the instructions and installed all the requirements but the tattoo just doesn't show up in the character creation. I don't know if I installed unique tav inorrectly or not since I followed all the steps.
The tattoo replaces the first body marking option (the birds). If that option still appears as birds after installing the mod, I suggest checking that you aren't using a modded face which isn't compatible with unique tav - in which case the tattoo won't appear. If that definitely isn't the case, I would then make sure that unique tav is installed correctly (make sure it is installed before installing this mod so that the tattoo isn't overwritten). Detailed instructions for installing unique tav are on its mod page. Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable enough to suggest fixes beyond those, sorry.
Actually I installed it correctly, when I created my male drow Durge it didn't appear but when I was creating the guardian it actually appeared but not as dark as it should have been, it just looked like some smoke on the face even when selecting the higher tint level as black. So safe to assume that the mod is meant only for female body types? Because my male Durge (body type 2) doesn't have it as a tattoo option.
I just went into the character creator and for me the tattoo does appear for a male drow. It should work on any male faces which are compatible with unique tav. As described in the mod description, the sharp contrast in colours can only be achieved well if you have the tattoo be a light colour against a very dark skintone. It will look smoky when dark. Sorry about that.
Not sure what im doing wrong but its just a smudge for me. KInd of looks like they just got dirt on their face. Do i have to up the opacity somehow? Or is it not compatible with EOTB?
Sorry for missing your comment, and to hear that my mod isn't working well for you. I find that the colours can be quite important. In my case the light skin colour "tattoo" shows up really well against the dark backing skintone. It seems that light on light, or dark on light do look really smudgy which is unfortunate. I think it is the opacity - the tattoo I drew doesn't have a uniform opacity (as the default tattoos do) so that it has a better skin texture... but it really only works with fair skin on dark as a lighter shines through too much. Perfect for my own character, but is clearly quite limiting.
That's probably the problem, I don't think EOTB should be incompatible. I'm going to add a warning to the description about the skin colours. When I have more time I might go back and mess with the opacity to see if I can get a better version for lighter skintones.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't get it to work.
Install Unique Tav PAK and Data files into the Data folder like the instructions say (Which creates the Generated folder if it wasn't already there) Install this mod into the Data folder that Unique Tav created. Confirmed the overwrite. Confirmed the .DDS file is present and in the right location.
Launch the game. Go to the Mirror. Bird tattoo is still the bird tattoo.
You seem to be following all of the steps correctly - are you using a modded face which isn't compatible with unique tav? In this case the game will use the default tattoos.
Hmm, sorry for the delayed reply. I don't think so... but I have a lot of mods. I assumed it to be a mod incompatibility, but I went through and removed every mod that made any sense to me that might conflict with no change. I'm certain it's a me problem though. I'll figure it out eventually.
