Pretty cool set, but even the "balanced" version is so overpowered it feels like cheating! Lunar Blessing on the gauntlets *needs* be once per short rest so you can't spam such a strong AoE spell as a bonus action every turn. As for the amulet, half the passive bonus - but make Shield usable either once per short rest or even once per combat. Swap out the concentration advantage with advantage to perception on the armour. Better balanced and more thematically appropriate - in my opinion :)
Hello, this looks great. I appreciate all your hard work in creating this mod (and offering a more balanced version of your default set). I know that you made a balanced version; however, might I make a few suggestions for thematics? If you like these suggestions, feel free to use them for an alternate/second version of your balanced set. Please feel free to ignore me if you are not interested in altering the mod further! I’m basing this on the balanced image.
Silvered Guardian Half-Plate (Armor): I thought making Selune’s Protection conditional might help with some of the other comments that mentioned the set being a bit too powerful. It requires two conditions (light and it only affects specific enemies)
- 15 AC; +2 AC bonus from Dex mod - Selune’s Protection: In combat, when the wearer is bathed in light (ex: light, daylight, radiating orb, Blood of Lathander, etc.), shadows, undead, and hostile obscured creatures must make a Wisdom saving throw or become Fearful - Spell: Daylight (restores upon long rest)- Advantage on Con saves
Moonlit Jaunt (Boots):
- Boon of the Moonmother: While wearing the boots, the wearer's jump and flying speed increase by 5 ft, and they gain the Feather Fall condition. Feather Fall's effect will persist while the wearer is Polymorphed or Wild-Shaped. See: Corvid Token for reference - Night Maneuvers: Imposes disadvantage on melee attacks made against the wearer for 1 turn (refreshes upon short rest/free action)–refer to battle master Evasive Footwork - Spell: Haste (restores upon long rest)
Circle of She Who Guides:
- Wearer becomes proficient in all Wisdom-based skills (since Selune does have some dominion over the Knowledge domain) - Add your Wisdom Modifier to Guidance (I don't know if it's possible to do this: disregard if not) - The plus 1 to Wisdom is nice.
Selunite Gauntlets:
- Remove Aegis Palms - Twilight attack is fine by default, but this is just an alternative:*Twilight Attack (Radiant): When the wearer deals radiant damage, the target receives 1 turn of Radiating Orb* Twilight Attack (Necrotic): When the wearer deals necrotic damage, the target becomes Feeble for 1 turn
Selunite Amulet:
- High spellcasting is fine. - The wearer cannot be blinded - Remove shield spell
Moonlight Glaive:
- Keep the default “Moonlight Glaive: Glow” from base-game weapon due to synergy with the heavy-plate - Twilight Sanctuary: Protect yourself from attackers under Selune’s moonlight. If you attack or harm another creature, the sanctuary shatters, dealing 3d8 radiant damage to nearby hostile creatures. Until the affected entity attacks or harms another creature, it cannot be targeted by enemy attacks. However, it can still take damage from spells that influence a larger area. This ability is restored upon short rest. See Kar’niss’s ability in Honor Mode - Remove Lunar Blessing and replace with Moonbeam (restores upon shot rest) - Add Sanctuary (restores upon short rest)
I hope you don't take these suggestions as a slight. I just saw some of the comments and wanted to offer my two cents.
This is really cool but also really OP. I would definitely be interested in a balanced version, maybe with stats that are good for that point in the game, but still leave some room for upgrades later.
There's few armours for casters in this game (that aren't robes), so I'm looking at the half-plate with the most interest :). Also, if there's something in need of buffs it's the Selûnite spear, it's the worst legendary item in the game I think.
