This is an interesting subclass. It has some elements of valor and glamor while having a decent spin all it's own. I get that you implementing a homebrew of someone else but I do like the potential for a face/leader character that can also provide support. Question on the extra attack use does that stack with normal extra attack and action surge? example bard goes before fighter give extra attack option from inspiration, does the fighter then have an extra attack for every attack action so three attacks then action surge three attacks again or would it be three attacks then action surge two attacks? I ask because a fighter barbarian Karlach raging with GWM and reckless attack with a gnome command bard is my next playthrough.
I don't know if you've ever used Commander's Strike in-game, but the current implementation is similar. Basically, on your ally's turn they get two temporary abilities called "Attack Order (Melee)" and "Attack Order (Ranged)". Neither costs an action, but once one is used they both disappear.
So strictly speaking, it stacks with Extra Attack, but mainly because it kind of sidesteps the feature. This was just the easiest way to implement it, since it gets a little tricky otherwise:
Do you have an Extra Attack? Do you have an Improved Extra Attack?
Do you have Thirsting Blade? Do you have Thirsting Blade and one of the above? Are you on Honour Mode, where Thirsting Blade and Extra Attack no longer stack, or on normal difficulty, where they do?
Do you have any one of those features, but are midway through making your attacks when your Commander buffs you?
And under the hood, it gets a little scary! So you just get one free special weapon attack / unarmed strike, deliberately divorced from anything else. Shouldn't interfere with most things that grant extra attacks, but won't duplicate from things like Action Surge. There are some downsides to this, but it does mean that, unlike tabletop, you can do things like Dash twice as a Rogue and then use the Attack Order.
Thanks. At some point I would like to just do a pass, make sure every subclass has an icon. Still, hard to say when exactly that'll be; really depends on when I'm free and willing to do it. And it can definitely end up easier to make some icons than others. (I do have some ideas for what to use for here and Poverty Cleric, but as subclasses they're a bit more abstract in concept than "you are a farmer".)
