Gorgeous sword, would you be able to add a longsword variety? same handle length with just a longer blade, like the other comment said about 1/4 to 1/3.
unfortunately when i made this, it was a one time thing. I made it for self but decided to share it. However if you just want the Long Sword tag at the least thats easy for anyone to edit via unpacking using multi tool, then going into the weapon stats txt. and chnage it the wpn_shortsword to the longsword tag. and then repackaging using multi tool again.
Editing the lengths on the actual 3d model takes a bit to long to just add it ): im sorry
I noticed you didn't want to continue work on this lovely sword, so I figured I'd take a look myself. i've had a peek into your .pak and toyed about with blender and managed to lengthen the blade and change it to a longsword. Textures seem to work, and WPN_EVERBURN.gr2 seems to translate directly into Hero Sword v2. I can't export the others because of some consecutive armature error, no clue what that means.
Anyway after some trial and error I got it to sit in Tav's hand properly, and somehow it makes the longsword noises now despite my not changing that. It levitates far away from the back, however, when sheathed... like, oddly far.
Ideally i'd take the black variant of this sword, lengthen it, and switch the model and texture out with that of Phalar Aluve.
I don't really have any tutorials. Learned how to do it by asking people on the discord modding community but that was a long while back. I still know how to edit swords and put in game though. Just not something i can explain in a comment. Its super easy once you get things going tho to have the swords in the right position. if its sitting too far from the back tho its just a height issue vertically. i mostly focus on clothing mods. so making new weapons isnt really something i want to do unless its a commission. This one i made for myself but decided to share it :)
This looks really awesome! My only criticism is the hole in the sword, I don't know much about swords but I'm pretty sure those "gaps" would make the sword weak I think?? I know it's just a game, but that's the only thing I noticed really! I only offer this criticism because the sword looks BEAUTIFUL!!! You have talent!!!
I actually didn't make the sword from scratch, its that flaming sword you get at the nautiloid, all i did was edit the size, colors, stats and added some hilt variants. Tho it did take a bit of work to edit it and get it working but I didn't make it from scratch
Hi! I just want to say I love this mod, it looks great, and is pretty much exactly what I wanted from aa sword. That being said, I wish the blade was a bit longer, maybe about an extra 1/4th, 1/3rd. I've done a bit of modding in the past, and I've worked with Blender. Is this something that could be done fairly easily?
i love the black version and wished to dual wield but sadly i cant read LOL i was like why cant i put it on my off-hand i even reinstalled it LOL anyway still a good looking sword
YES, with that u can extract the file then throw the pak. into it then in the unpacked mods open it and go to the weapon txt. in the stats folder and in this line data "Weapon Properties" "Finesse;Light;Thrown;Melee;Dippable;Magical" copy paste the ";Light" property into it just like above and save. repack it by throwing folder back into multi tool. and done. if u wanna go further, here u can also change the spells/passives etc.
its gonna be here, full launch isnt gonna look much diffrent, mainly just testing to make sure the scaling passive is working because i don't have a lv 9 character to see if the sword gets +3 enchantment. The only difference will be another color option or two. with a difffrent hilt.
sorry made it for myself, just decided to share it. Wasn't planning on making a lot of variations of colors since it requires more coding. however i can maybe swap out the hilt on the second sword i have in the file for the black astral sword hilt which looks pretty cool. no promises tho, its hard to even make one sword
any chance to make a version with no True Strike but with a melee skill or something more useful? feels redundant if you playing a class that already have true strike, a missing oportunity to have some different skill.
this true strike is different from base game true strike, its self cast, rather than "choose an enemy". So u aren't locked into one enemy its also bonus cast rather than action. much more viable than in game true strike, meant to be used as a finisher or for a priority target.
idk if u mean by changing the size again and making it a longsword or just labeling one of them as a longsword and changing the animation to longsword animation
